Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon
Poland starting to develop games was the single worst thing to happen to gaming, only eclipsed by the greater tragedy of having Anglos make games.
Pretty sure we had that somewhere before, but remind me, which RPGs achieved that?rusty_shackleford wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 12:01I'll give them the benefit and see if they patch the content in, wouldn't be the first time it has happened after an unfinished game was successful.

I know there's games in other genres that received a lot of post-launch content, to the point it's become something of an expectation.
Played it on release day and couple years later, I don't think so. Less bugs, sure. Better performance, yeah. But besides that same game.gerey wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 13:45Cyberpunk 2077, maybe?1998 wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 13:37Pretty sure we had that somewhere before, but remind me, which RPGs achieved that?

I think they added a bunch of new stuff for free - items, new romance content (?), the metro etc.
I guess Baldur's Gate 3 is the bigger example, though it's questionable how much of the content they added was just stuff from EA and how much they started working on after the game shipped.
Only a update.
I said that battlemage, the typical heavy armored breton using spells to buff/summon with a powerful enchanted weapon and eventually destruction spells only on terrifying enemies is not possible, but I was wrong. It is possible in late game.
Sure, is more a spellsword than a battlemage, using magic and weapon together without heavy armor. But is feasible.

Sure they did, but nothing that changed the game fundamentally or made it more complete. I just can't think of an unfinished game, Encased, Stygian etc., that has been properly finished post launch.gerey wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 14:13I think they added a bunch of new stuff for free - items, new romance content (?), the metro etc.

If we step outside the cRPGs box for a moment, credit where credit is due, No Man's Sky devs did deliver on all they promised during the pre-launch hype campaign.1998 wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 14:44I just can't think of an unfinished game, Encased, Stygian etc., that has been properly finished post launch.
The game's gameplay loop is still flawed on a fundamental level, but I can't fault the devs for all the free support they've given to the game.

Anyway, I am about to wrap up chapter 1, so no idea how unfinished the rest of the game is. I am still pretty confident chapter 3 will never be close to c1.

I have been playing a mage for my entire playthrough and I had no issues whatsoever, my build is 20 spirituality for now and nothing else, I am one shotting most normal enemies and for bosses I just summon three goblins while I nuke the boss with my spells.WaterMage wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 14:38Only a update.

You can absolutely play mage from lvl 1 not only in the endgame.
At the end of chapter one I cleared the entire Del Riata camp for even daring to suggest me to betray Galahad on the hardest difficulty, you just need to know how to kite (one hit and you are dead) and have good mana regen or potions.

I'm not talking about MAGE, I'm talking about Battlemage/Spellsword, using heavy armor and mostly buff magic.

There's almost zero references to Christianity beyond a few offhand mentions of the pope. If it wasn't for there being characters that are later additions it would be easy to pass as a pre-romance Arthurian story. And it still could, I guess.pokafox wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 15:22That's what I feared and came to ask here ... Galahad was talked about as being insane but when I actually met him he seemed reasonable. Yes, he had just executed two soldiers, but one was a deserter and the other was looting a dead body.

I have seen a bunch of gear that is good for a battle mage, including magic shields and a sword that launches water proyectiles.
There is a spell that blocks 1 hit (any hit) that seems also good for a battle mage and I think it's on the same place where you find your basic healing spell.
If there was a man involved I wouldn't suspect a lot but since it's only two females my woke alert is activated.
I'm getting bored already in act 2. Got lancelot gear fully equipped and got the all requirements for it around level 35 every battle is the same now.

Any of them. Malory is of course considered the most "canonical", but the essential themes are present all the way back to Geoffrey of Monmouth.pokafox wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 22:23which version, smartass ?Stack of Turtles wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 19:52somebody's never actually read itpokafox wrote: β May 28th, 2025, 15:22

The launch version did not have the full game, I got hardlocked at the barbarian area and it was already getting very buggy by that point.
Check the 1.0 & 1.1 notes: https://pathfinderkingmaker.fandom.com/wiki/Patch_Notes Tons of stuff
Yes, it's actually a completable game albeit the quality drops after the halfway mark. That's different now?

Started again and am using lightning lash. Not having only "fire" based spells is so great. Any mage player here want to share the location of more cool spells please?
