No RPG elements? It probably goes here!

Anything below say, a 6.5/10 average.

I thought The Bureau: XCOM Declassified was pretty good and didn't get the hate. Not the game XCOM fans wanted, but it was good for what it was and probably the only actual "mass effect-like"

Alpha Protocol.

Easily one of Obsidians best games. No game since has executed choice and consequences so well in games that wasn’t just a marketing bullet point.

cheap Dragon Age Origins knock-off, but with a very good story that captured this whole "gameofthrones edgy no one is safe everyone is a scheming ******* except for the main guy who is based but always suffers" vibe really well. It only got panned because of the low production values.

Hard Truck Apocalypse

For some reason I just liked it. I came across it years ago, thought it was interesting, and completely zoned out on it. The game isn't anything special and people will say has a lot of flaws, gets repetitive pretty quickly, but for some reason I just enjoyed the hell out of it. /shrug

Jagged Alliance: Back in Action wasn't the comeback fans of the franchise were hoping for, but it's a perfectly serviceable game that has many of the elements that people like about JA2. With a few tweaks via modding it becomes very enjoyable to play even.

Spore. I was not following the anticipation for the game online at the time, so I was unaware that it was apparently majorly anticipated and then there was a let down and backlash towards it. My first introduction to this game was not through the main game, but the cheaper standalone Creature Creator. I had a lot of fun designing my own creatures. I then got the actual Spore game. I thought it was pretty neat how it was a collection of various different game modes as opposed to just playing the same way throughout. 2D Pacman game > RPG where you control a single character with clunky movement feel > RTS > RTS > RPG where you control a spaceship and fly around interacting with other civilizations. But it was the Adventure expansion that got me really immersed in the game and participating online, going to the forums to download other people's creations as .PNGs and drag and drop them into my game, or following various fanmade RPG campaigns being made by other people. It also got me interested in making videogames myself.
