Your Favorite Racing Game?

Post by psychic_dream »

I don’t have extensive experience with the racing genre since I’m not really a vroom connoisseur, but I did have my fair share of enjoyment playing some when I was younger, mostly arcade style racers.

Need for Speed (2005) was pretty fun, and the soundtrack was excellent. I also liked Midnight Club 3. I know its music fits the description of wigger “culture,” but I didn’t know any better back then.

Racing is something I occasionally enjoy. Usually simcade type racers with a career mode like Forza or Gran Turismo. Burnout was my favorite arcade racer back in the day

I'm not a car person, I derive no joy from driving around and see going from point A to point B in my car as just another chore to get through, I never bothered to learn how to fix my car and have no interest in doing so either, and colleagues and friends talking about this or that car or manufacturer bores me to tears.

I'm sure the above, or at least parts of it, apply to all people that aren't avid racing fans. Like Fox1 said, I enjoy arcade racers with a career mode, preferably ones where I get to upgrade my vehicle over time.

Burnout was always a favorite of mine, and I enjoyed playing it with friends. The recently translated Racing Lagoon is great, and I'm sad nobody ever tried to make a spiritual sequel to it.

I liked the MotorStorm games for the sense of speed they conveyed, and I remember enjoying the old, cartoony Ignition, though I'm not sure how good the game was.

Lego Stunt Rally. Unusually, it was a top down racing game, but you can build your own tracks.
