Do Half Elves age as slowly as Elves?

Arnell is going to stay younger looking and with a different head, cause his vanilla one is very oriental.
Regarding Emmeline, she'll be reverted to looking older, but with black-gray hair.
As for alleged Shart's older sister:

Together they had a single daughter Jenevelle Hallowleaf.
Emmeline always hoped to have more children, but that was never to be.

The mention of Shart sister is traceable only through early game assets that Larian probably scrapped and never used.

I'm not one to never admit mistakes or anything like that. Emmeline was made younger cause she looked way too old, even for ~60 something woman. Ana because we wanted to use vanilla heads on more NPCs, so it was an edit I kept coming back to, unsure if it was okay or not (unlike Arnell), even though I liked her younger look-wise.
She's going to be updated in 2.0 though, so calm your horses. And I'm off to rape more lore.

Here's an idea if a half-elf and a half-elf make a baby is it not a half-elf as well? There's no reason both parents can't be half-elves unless it's specified the story...or unless half-breeds are sterile like mules.

Do Half Elves age as slowly as Elves?

If we go by 5e lore (pre-super woke re-release), Half-Elves are said to mature at the same rate as humans but live longer. It doesn't specify the rate of aging, but if they live about 50 years longer than humans, it's a reasonable inference that they do, in fact, age either slower, or at least later. Lucky bastards.

Although, if we use the 3.5e PHB which actually does have aging mechanics, it says that half-elves don't reach middle age until 62 years (Middle Age being the first age where characters begin to get penalties to physical stats and bonuses to mental stats). So Shadowheart being 48 tracks by both new and old lore. She's still got shy of 20 years before she's over the hill.

(As an aside, true elves aren't middle-aged until 175, dwarves 125, gnomes 100, halflings 50. The only race that gets a lower middle aged rate than humans (35) is half-orcs with 30.)

She spent 40 years with the Sharrans after being abducted during her rite of passage. She would've been 8 years old in that case, since there aren't any earlier rites of passage in the historical record DnD pulls from for its lore. Shadowheart is 48 years old at the time of the game.

Alright, you convinced me. I thought Sharty was in her 20s and I was okay, maybe it makes sense that her mom would be like in her 40s. But Sharty being 48? That would mean her mom is in her 60s so it makes literally no sense to de-age her, unless you’re making her dad a Discord moderator.

Don't remember why Arnell doesn't have black hair, but he'll get it back for the update.

Also, I looked up what kind of hair color do high elves have since you stated high elves only have fair hair. That is true in the wiki. However, high elves have their own sub-races: sun elves and moon elves. If we are to assume Sharty’s dad is a moon elf, hair of moon elves in the Races of Faerûn (2003) were described to be black, blue, and silvery white. So the vanilla version of the dad literally is a moon elf, with his blue-ish black hair, and thus is also a high elf in accordance to the Player’s Handbook 4th Edition (2008) and Player’s Handbook 5th edition (2014). If we are to assume the dad is a sun elf, sun elves are described having black, copper, golden blond, and red hair in accordance to Cormanthyr: Empire of the Elves (1998). Basically the vanilla version of Sharty’s dad matches what elves are described in lore even in pre-5th edition, so it makes no sense changing him from a black hair to a blonde.

I guess you can make him look beautified, but he's supposed to be like tortured for 30 years straight. I would expect some body edits that add scars to him.

Nevertheless, this is like the biggest non-issue this mod over-fixes that ultimately a detriment. The vanilla version is much better than what was changed.

Even assuming there isn't any line in thr game that hints to their ages or other race-specific stuff... what would be the point of making them both half-elves? Sounds like change for change's sake.

Oh, and one more thing: vanilla has an actual immersion issue where the dirt and grime is reportedly "baked in" to their faces, so even if they come to stay in your suite at the Elfsong they'll never take a bath (or change their clothes, for that matter).

There's at least one mod that fixes this, but I expect that it does so by adding a cleaned version of their vanilla faces and swapping them after a long rest. So it woud be nice for RR not to change their faces without a good reason.

To simplify everything it was assumed by default that High Elves are just High Elves, no sub-races. Or we'd have to account for Sun, Moon and also Star Elves and it would be too much of a headache code wise.

This is untrue, like I said Dak'kon back in '99 had facial hair. Neither he nor any gith in PST looked "monstrous" either. There's no issue with Orpheus having a lore accurate beard even if he isn't a Githzerai.

Since we're talking about gith... Gonna drop off a few I made using a couple of hair mods. Haven't seen how the mod handles them yet (other than Lae), but I hate how lame and normal looking they are in the game + more recent DnD editions. Give me that crazy space comanche ****, where you they show up and **** you up and you have no ******* idea what they're saying or what they want. They just act and look like humans now.

We've been thinking about adding some hair extensions to bring more variety (to everyone, not only gith), but didn't want to bloat up aesthetics mod at the same time. Maybe we'll do it some time in a future version.
