Did the fighters guild questline today and in one of the later quests where you go with oreyn to some ayleid ruins he constantly faints to poison gas, the quest updating in the empty ruin took forever I probably ran through the **** thing 5 times. Then you go to the next ayleid ruin Oreyn so slow and doesnt teleport with you, that I finished the next one by myself boss dead and looted. I go back outside and Oreyn wants a ring from that boss he didnt had yet because Oreyn apparently had to say something before the boss gets that put into his inventory. So back to the whole ruin again with at least 2 loading screens loot the ring and run outside again to finally finish that quest. ( you cant do **** out of order in these games or quests break). Then finally finished the fighters guild quest line and got the reward why I did it even, the helm of Oreyn Bearclaw and I totally forgot this one was nerfed to hell from morrowind to oblivion from 40agility/con to 10agility/con and it also looks like **** in Oblivion compared to Morrowind from behind so I put it into a chest. Quite demotivating if you cant install mods which fix all this ****. And I just looked up daedric artifacts Oblivion didnt even have one daedric armor aritifact, like lords mail, ebony mail or the dragonborn cuirass. (except light armor saviors hide which also got nerfed from morrowind 65% magic resist to 25%) :groan:

You can pretty much level to 17 or so when enemies drop daedric armor and then just use sigil stones for enchanting and you probably wont find much better stuff except random jewelry like the mundane ring which is op.
LOL I literally had this exact issue last time I played the fighters guild xD
I'm just stating the facts.

The "remaster" is basically just tiny bug fixes + UE5 slop. All the issues of the original game remain, it's the worst kind of remaster.
Sprinting+leveling changes are pretty drastic. In a very weird position where they really should have done more or less.

I wouldn't say they're really drastic even. The sprint is pitiful and you already ran fast as **** in Oblivion due to people whining about Morrowind.
The leveling change is a bit insidious tho. Because attribute bonuses are no longer tied to skills used there's no reason to not hop everywhere and use random skills to level up because even if you sit in a corner fiddling with cocks locks you can dump all those points into endurance and intelligence/strength anyway.

Also the difficulty is definitely nerfed at least for "medium" difficulty. It's borderline journalist mode so far.

Until you run into the bandit mine 10 meter east from the chorrol outside wall and you think nothing can even scratch you and that one tripwire you cant easiely jump over triggers some tree trunks falling on your head and you are instant dead with 600hp+.

You were a child when you played Oblivion, it's easier because you're better at games and familiar with it. It was always a game for console babies/elders.

I didn't stop playing Oblivion 20 years ago. I did a full playthrough of the main quest and fighters guild less than a year ago. It's definitely different. Whether that's due to actual tinkering done (Oblivion had a slider, remake has static settings) or a byproduct of always getting guaranteed perfect endurance level ups is another question though.

Nope, just all other traps barely do anything but this one does for some reason.

Seems to level up faster, and I've not come close to dying once, even against minotaurs.

If you want to make it interesting play through the game with the cursed blade of the crusader and dont purify it (knights of the nine questline). Gives like -100 magic resist and some other debuffs. :knight:

It does. I have seen evidence that they monkeyed with the gamesettings to increase the experience gain for most actions.

They did fix one issue, and I'll give them credit for it.

The game now grants experience based upon the casting cost of a spell and not the skill mastery level, making more expensive spells give more experience.

As for the difficulty, I have not seen the new data files yet so I cannot say anything conclusive.
I'm not spending all day downloading 100gb of a torrent for a couple of files.

(If anyone wants to post the new files I'll give them a look and tell you what I can see.)
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.
If you can.

Having a blast just like 20 years ago, the game have not lost it soul. I think it's a great remake, beside some bugs and body type ****. Thank god it wasn't made by Bluepoint, imagine that

Difficulty mod on Nexus shows the difficulty values
Damage taken Damage dealt
Novice x0.167 x6.0
Apprenticex0.286 x3.5
Adept x1.0 x1.0
Expertx3.5 x0.286
Master x6.0 x0.167

The easiest and hardest settings are in-line with original Oblivion according to the wiki https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Difficulty
The range of values for these settings are much greater than in Skyrim. For example, player damage to monsters at the lowest setting, and monster damage to players at the highest setting, are both six times as much as the default, center setting, and the corresponding damage rates are both one-sixth of normal.

It just doesn't have the same charm when it has such high definition. I guess it has to do with your brain filling in the low resolution details, the characters have a much more cartoon-esque aesthetic to it.

Part of the problem is the npc’s look above and passed you too much.

Also, they uglified (probably unintentionally, skill issue) pretty much all the npcs.

Then it's definitely a case of my mage being OP due to having the advantage of perfect endurance AND intelligence levels giving me massive magicka and health pools compared to how things would usually be (I don't play the min max insanity game when I played og Oblivion)

That's what I thought at first too when I heard him talking to other NPCs. He did voice a companion in ESO so I thought it might be possible but if it's him he's phoning it in so hard it sounds like someone else doing an impression of Garrus. IMDB doesn't list him as voicing a role in this game but maybe the ******** who update that sort of thing haven't gotten to it yet.

I still don't think this is because of woke or anything. Redguards were always meant to be black but ******* are legitimately so ******* ugly that facegen being awful at making realistic faces made them look better. The updated visuals means they can finally look how they're supposed to but how they're supposed to look is like ******* and ******* are so ugly that the 2006 potato faced mutants were better
