Grubb himself is okay. He did a lot of early work at TSR on Spelljammer and Dragonlance. Volo was supposed to be a one-off joke (he's named after a state park not far from Lake Geneva. This is once again a case of Ed Greenwood ruining something connected to D&D. He took the character and ran it into the ground. I'm sure Volo is some kind of weird sex pervert now.

One problem with the funny text file name though is that I can't use the Mod Organizer 2 plugin (https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/1268) to install these as it uses LSLib to unpack the mod to get all it's settings and of course it spits errors because of the '|' character in the name (the Name Change PAK doesn't have that character in the text file names and so it loads that one OK). You can manually activate the PAK files inside BG3 but that screws up the load order.

Also the script extender console has a load of errors because of that character as well though they don't seem to effect anything as far as I can tell.

That MO2 plugin's busted I got a fork I'm gonna upload soon ish

I've got a workaround for the time being; just load BG3MM from MO2, set the load order and run BG3 from there. It complains about duplicate PAK files but it loads everything and in the right order.

It does. But I keep having to turn on all my mods using the ingame mod manager, close, re-export load order from BG3MM, and start again

I think you'll like the new MO2 plugin I'm working on. It circumvents the entire system by just defining mods as dependencies on the GustavX.pak file

I can verify that this solution works! Running the game from MM has activated all mods and the character creator was woke-free! Thanks!

We've stopped catering to nitpicks. You allow one and you have to allow all 1500 multiplied to infinity. Extracting and packing Visuals is a simple thing to do. So we'll leave users to do that themselves at their discretion.

No matter how stupid it seemed to you, it will never top an entire community of Good Tieflings being the very first populace you meet in your journey. Chances of that happening on the Material Plane before the wokeification of D&D should be one in a billion or something.

No matter how stupid it seemed to you, it will never top an entire community of Good Tieflings being the very first populace you meet in your journey. Chances of that happening on the Material Plane before the wokeification of D&D should be one in a billion or something.

They needed a stand-in for niggerfugees that most players wouldn't find repulsive. There's a reason they chose one of the most popular races to play instead of, say, Half-Orcs or Gnomes or something.

Basically everyone who is sufficiently nerdy to care about Forgotten Realms® Lore at all is going to have their own opinion on exactly how certain races should be distributed to get the correct "feel".

Looking at the full RR swap tables, I see a ton of swaps that make zero motherfucking sense to me (why shouldn't the meek and mild-mannered vicar be a gnome? why shouldn't the jovial wine festival hosts be halflings?) but I have no doubt that for some reason they bothered Orin/Silver/Lore's idea of Faerun.

Fortunately the mods have the most important prerequisite: they're safe to uninstall in case you don't like the result.
