The British repeatedly appeased Hitler. The problem was he kept reneging on deals he entered.
The irony of popular history rewriting to make everyone that isn't axis look like the good guys is it erases how much most of the western world was willing to work with Hitler.
I rarely ever see any discussion from supporters or fellow travelers of the ideology about how much Hitler was simply dishonest in his diplomatic relations, and the lasting damage it has done to diplomacy to this very day. You can see this echo right into discussions of peace with Russia, most diplomacy is now conducted as if the other party is simply lying and peace without force is not possible.
