If the TB combat with QTEs interests you (why?), I guess it could be worth a try.
While it's obvious that the budget was kinda limited (heavy copy-pasting of assets in the very first area, mediocre animations), the graphics and performance are good. Very story-heavy in the beginning (story seems promising though), ok characters, very linear prologue, and, well, didn't play any further, because it's not for me.
In a TB game I don't want to bother with punishing twitch-reactions and memorization of each and every attack-timing.
And yes, lots of *******.

Pretty much how I felt, expecting this to have a really high return rate.
JRPG devs(incl. imitators) have no idea how to make the combat more interesting or innovative, everything they've tried has failed, they're behind even what was standard in western games e.g., Wizardries in the 90s.

Last thing I want is to play guitar hero in the middle of my turn.

I don't really find it fun or interesting to memorize exactly when to dodge for each attack when every enemy has multiple different attacks each with their own timing
can't imagine what kind of weird weeb autism would find this enjoyable
Isn't this exactly what Dark Souls gameplay boils down to?

EDIT: So it's Dark Souls: The TurnBasening?

Thanks, I am out. I don't like Dark Souls.
Dark Souls is an excellent arpg with great exploration, this is a ****** story-focused, turn-based jrpg with QTEs every fight (wtf?).
Utter ********.

It was nowhere near as bad prior to them leaning into the "git gud" thing and designing the game around the boss fights. You can skirt thru bosses in dork souls by learning as the encounter goes instead of banging your head on a wall to learn the patterns.

And even if they were, like they arguably(?) are in Sekiro for example, I can tolerate it in a real-time game (if everything else is good), but not in a TB one.

Yeah, while I don't usually care for the story at all, especially not in current year, that (and the presentation of it) seemed the only thing done really well and kinda tasteful.
I stopped about half an hour in though, so may go to **** later for all I know.

The lead writer is a woman, and nearly every woman outshines the protagonist so far, with the villain also being a woman. I don't know how many red flags need to appear for people to adhere to some sense of consistent standards and point them out without equally braindead weeb troglodytes whining about negativity.

Not necessarily a bad thing (see FF14 where Natsuko Ishikawa wrote the Doman half of Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker in spite of interference from Yoshida), though I suppose a Western woman writer is a red flag.

And the "Painter" the eldritch entity that is causing all of this is referred as a "she" as well. Also, it seems the current political leader of the survivors is the sister of the protagonist. The ****** dies very early though, so that's something.

No. I have been listening to them in the car for a decade. They have never talked any libertarian or woke nonsense. They grew up as Christians (or Mormons, I think Mike talked about living in a Mormon missionary barracks for a while), but then Mike fell away. I don't know about Casen presently.

A Microsoft funded game that doesn't contain subversive propaganda? Yeah, I don't think so. People are welcome to be delusional but even from the first 4 hours of the game it's painfully clear this game is mirroring modern nihilism, even with a brief conversation about anti-natalism in a "doomed" society. The setting had potential but it's ruined by post modern french **** who built a society no one gives a **** if it dies. If they presented a 1940 Germany in the game I would care when everyone dies, but they don't and so I don't.

On that note, what is your favorite JRPG so far, @Val the Moofia Boss ?

Solely based on your personal enjoyment and opinion and not accounting for any other metric like sales, relevancy, etc.

timestamped, the few fights I skipped thru he has like a 15% dodge rate
I wouldn't say synthman is bad either, he breezed thru e.g., monkeygame rather easy

he complains about the delayed attacks

It's a shame they added such a ******** mechanic because I'd play it otherwise, I even liked the gun mechanic(it's at the same timestamp)

The one you timestamped has him dodging randomly for no reason against an attack with a very obvious sound cue and then complaining about it :pipe-thinking:

As French, I find the inclusion of French words like "merde" "putain" really pointless. Especially when the actors have such a ****** accent and can't pronounce single words properly.

Lune is hot af, good looking asian thot.

Still not buying, not my kind of game 😂
