Vanilla Heads (unless from Chult or Kara-Tur) are added back to the CC selection, so you can still access it when making a Tav / Durge. [NOT IMPLEMENTED YET]
some of the vanilla heads I liked - any idea when they'll be added back to CC?
also just curious but the mod suggests to play as durge and human or half-elf for best narrative coherency, was the story really made around durge and tav is really just durge content excluded? does tav have nothing unique about playing as a custom character?
The game was indeed designed for Durge. Only thing unique about custom character is 2 more lesbians couple that should have been dead.
I always got the sense Alfira was originally meant to be a companion to help "complete the set." The only classes that don't appear in the game as companions are Bard, Monk, and Sorcerer (and Durge is by default a Sorcerer despite being a knife-wielding serial killer... for some reason). Then plans changed and she became Durge-bait.
Oh! And "Monk" was added late in development, and so wasn't initially part of "the set." Which makes this theory make even more sense.
Has there been any progress in the modding community on making custom cinematics with dialogue? Or would that require a motion-capture rig?

Probably meant to join you instead of Halsin who got included because of femgooners

Wish I had played Durge first playthrough
Nothing more satisfying than ripping off Gale's Arm.

What a disgrace. They could've gone away with the nostalgia-bait Jaheira, Minsc and Viconia and instead given us Alfira as the Bard companion, Kagha as the Druid companion and a monk from Kara-Tur and an aragorn like ranger maybe. Also the companions we have in the final version are all very... human adjacent. No dwarves, halflings, gnomes, half-orc, goblin or dragonborn not even an aasimar. We had 16 recruitable companions back then and now we have 10.
Astarion > Rogue
Gale > Wizard
Lae'zel > Fighter
Shadowheart > Cleric
Wyll > Warlock
Karlach > Barbarian
Halsin > Druid (Why?)
Minthara > Paladin
Jaheira > Druid (Why?)
Minsc > Ranger (Why)

Data-mining revealed Minsc was originally supposed to be an Origin character (which, frankly, would have been nice and very funny as the main character if they made Boo have a voice when you played Minsc). But if not Minsc, then the Vampire-Hunter that is looking for Astarion would have been a good Ranger Companion. Data-mining also revealed another cut companion was a halfling bard.
I was also disappointed there was no dwarf companion, but part of me thinks Larian couldn't figure out how to keep the beards from clipping (which is why the dwarves have such short beards in game) and therefore decided, "**** it, no dwarf companions." One of the dwarven Flaming Fists has a tiny little goatee to fit into his helmet for this reason.
Famously, World of Warcraft also had this issue and their solution was "dwarves magically shave when wearing helmets."
Larian couldn't figure out how to keep the beards from clipping
Beards just needed to be so big and bushy that they cover all the clipping inside of it, ez.
though, Larian couldn't even figure out how to re-shape hairstyles to fit under headpieces. Instead, if you decide to wear a hat, it'll auto re-assign hairstyle into completely different one. And helmet hair are pretty much a handful of weak, borderline "about to go bald" strands of hair peaking through.
Ladies in BG city can't wear bonnets or any other head coverings because of that.
Guys, I literally have tears in my eyes right now. You did it! You actually managed to keep a woketard out of modding! You made a difference today! I'm so proud of this community!
I'm the anon that made the "New Preset Faces" mod if you've ever come across it. I took the heads in it from Nexus when I made it ages ago. If mod authors are crying now then they should be crying harder because I already robbed them years ago.
Talk about a labor of love (or spite lol). I am curious about 2 things. 1. Why was durge changed from an albino dragonborn to just a human guy? I'm not a dnd expert, but I didn't think durge being dragonborn was bad, considering you could just change his appearance anyway. The other thing is why Isobels hair was changed from white to brown. It was my understanding Selune worshippers get white hair when they actually commune with the goddess or whatever.

I really wanted to change the default character to Human Male instead of Female Elf Barbarian. The game picks those just alphabetically since they are first listed. I couldn't get there to be defaults, so I just changed Durge to Human and then had it so he's auto-selected when you join CC.
So basically he was changed so you don't have to click 5 buttons to get White Human Male anymore
*Optionally. She'll stay with normal hair for the main mod.
Part of FAQ. Don't all Selunites have white hair? No. See examples: [1][2][3]
We moved away from white hair trope, but you'll be able to optionally restore white hair on edited Isobel with next update.
@orinEsque Bug: Talking to the now half-elf Nettie, she has a head wreath duplicate clipping through her chest.
Hello. Can you drop me a full picture of Nettie?
Or, if you don't have a screenshot, was she having a bright white shirt or somewhat dirtied up, off white shirt, pants and leg wrappings?
Her old version might've slipped through into the packaged version.
Found another bug. Benryn, the Half-Elf you rescue at Waukeen's Rest, has Tiefling eyes now.
Would post screenshots but HQ doesn't have an option to upload locally stored images that I'm aware of? @rusty_shackleford any plans to add this?

Just drag and drop the image on the full editor, it will get attached.

Thank you for reporting it! We have a Realms Restored Suppot section now. So you can submit all the future bugs you find there. If you lose the subforum, you can find it again through the main post of RR or inside Bugs tab as well.

No problemo. You guys put so much work into this, it's the least I can do.
Here is my modlist btw. Let me know if the load order is off, but there shouldn't be mods that would be causing the glitches.

There's nothing that can cause any bugs or glitches, as far as I can tell.
The tiefling eyes you saw are appearing because NPC had no eye preset assigned to them, so when head got swapped it defaulted into demon eyes. Easy fix!
No you colossal ******. That book ruined all the BG1-2 characters by doing character assassinations and depicting them completely different compared to the games.

How did it ruin them? You realize this book was written by the original creator of the Baldur's Gate games, you stupid ******? Your playthrough isn't canon. Just because you played the game 20 years ago doesn't mean you know better than the original creator and get to decide what is and isn't canon. Most of what happens in the games is not canon to the official FR timeline, and this book isn't even part of the official WOTC 5e sourcebook line. It was published under the DMs Guild fan content brand and is basically non-canon.
depicting them completely different compared to the games
There's no consistency to how they're depicted in the games and other material.
Hey dumbass, have you actually read it? Your cool book turned Kivan and Cernd into *******, but something tells me that's what you prefer anyway.

What a ******* slap on the face. His entire quest was about avenging his dead wife because he loved her with all his heart and finding the resolve to coming to terms with her death after avenging her and the will to keep going. And now suddenly it turns out the real love of his life was another man. Disgusting.
