*Yawn* You are free to insult my family because we all know that only American African negros have the mental capacity for it.
We have a Steam curator now. You should be following it. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44994899-RPGHQ/

these days, i notice among consoomers especially from predit is let people enjoy things anytime critcisim of said slop is brought up. :/
Gaslighting thats what it really is honestly.
They say this, but they also can't name a non-nostalgiabait game that isn't ****. And the Steam sales indicate most people only play older games.
I'm pretty sure Powerpoint Slides are not games.
I agree. It's a trite opinion that is endlessly parroted online.
βA delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad"
I ******* hate how this line get parroted in gaming in almost all online discourse regardless if it actually make sense.

a delayed game is forever ever changing garbage
Well, implicit in this is the idea that the delay will somehow be used to make it good, as opposed to just making it bad later. This is, however, not in line with observed historical trends, where the later the release date, the worse the game generally is. Notice how that in 2025, pretty much everything is utterly ****, and if the trend is followed, things will only ever get worse.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: β April 21st, 2025, 20:53βA delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad"

Female protagonists are a good thing.
Delaying the Dreamcast around the same time as the PS2 launch, with Sega of America shifting their original vision and focus from delivering sports and arcade experiences at home to action-adventures and weeb ****, could have saved it.
Only if they're hot. Making an ugly chick as your protagonist negatively affects your sales. No one wants to be or see that.
you really don't get the point of this thread, huh?Norfleet wrote: β April 21st, 2025, 23:03Only if they're hot. Making an ugly chick as your protagonist negatively affects your sales. No one wants to be or see that.
VAE VICTIS
Player choice negates propaganda chud, as it's simply optional to partake in the toucan victimhood olympics and gay sex.
Oh, I get it. I'm just attaching rebuttals and qualifiers to those opinions.Stack of Turtles wrote: β April 21st, 2025, 23:15you really don't get the point of this thread, huh?
This. I ******* hate when ******* say this. Any YT video that criticizes a slop remake has at least 1000 of these comments.
"How is having female characters woke? What are you? Gay?"
"Incel"
"Oh no black people exist in a game!"
"Define woke"
"Take your meds"

"There's no market for [specific genre that made money when market was 10x smaller]"
Imagine saying this about Harvest Moon when the problem (as always) was a combination of quality dropping over time and compromised design chasing after the fantastical idea that someone not interested in a farming sim would become a paying customer if they just added a superficial feature from last year's top seller. Essentially priming the market for Stardew Valley.
Many such cases.

What we have learned from watching what games become hits is that the market is ********, anyway, as the dumbest **** randomly becomes a smash hit for the most random reasons.J1M wrote: β April 22nd, 2025, 00:31"There's no market for [specific genre that made money when market was 10x smaller]"
"Really ****** game that was **** on for being ****" is better than you remember!
I think they're putting this to the test with the re-release of Big Rigs.Tweed wrote: β April 22nd, 2025, 02:42"Really ****** game that was **** on for being ****" is better than you remember!
