Arcanum gave women -1 Strength and +1 Constitution (citing childbirth, iirc)
Wasn't that whole "women have a higher tolerance to pain" claim put to rest a while ago? There is a pain tolerance test that can be done, something about a tool that puts pressure somewhere on the spine. They found out that men have a higher tolerance for pain, which makes sense considering their natural role.

No. I think the show Inked made the myth popular again, by saying women do anal for free tattoos tolerate pain.

I mean, the scientific consensus is that studies reliably show men having higher pain thresholds and higher pain tolerance that women. That goes against some discrepant studies, childbirth comparisons and the popular media narrative. Makes wonder if they actually take into the difference ****/lesbians, teenagers/younger individuals, cultural differences could have in the pain reporting.

After what I was told, though I would play it, I'd rather wait for release before I get disappointed. It's looking good thus far, but it can always make a sharp turn

Not to my knowledge.
I find it very wholesome that a married couple is making games that are very unique in both execution and style.

Not particularly fond of the art-style but otherwise seems to be shaping up nicely.

That's because by making it a test, they've activated the competitive instinct. Therefore, men will tolerate it in the short-term out of pure desire to be competitive and not appear weak. That said, Con is also typically used for hitpoints, and there's no way women can physically withstand as much damage. Men simply have tougher skins, thicker and heavier bones, and larger organs, which means there's simply more hitpoints involved. They do, however, apparently have better immune systems, so at least Con is halfway justified. I would have given them +1 to Dex instead. There are just things little girly fingers can do that my man-hands will never manage, so I make the wife do it. Or the kids.

Giving femoids +1 Dex in Arcanum. smdh. As if they need another way to go through life on easy mode.

Women getting a CHA bonus only works if there's a First Impressions system in the game. I think Arcanum had one of those. Morrowind had a sorta similar system but based it around clothing.

There is, but it's based on the Beauty stat, and is in fact the only thing Beauty does.

There's no way to "balance" female characters because the sexes aren't balanced. Women simply aren't built for adventuring, end of story.

Pretty much. Playing as a female should rightly just be playing the game on hardmode.

True. But I don’t see that changing at this point.

I am definitely playing this one. The art style is sick and the gameplay looks fun too. Just waiting for it to get out of early access.
The whole game has the same charm and cozy feeling of a really good PS1 game, but with a lot more polish.

Nowadays it's hard for me to get excited for a title but this one does it.

If nothing else, it's looking much better than Mechajamer.
