Yes, isn't it the same style as Dragon Age Keep and the DA3 icon style?
i didn't play those games but the art from them looked great. i hope the artists who made these get to work on a good game.

I agree that art style is nice. I don't have any hopes for DA4 tho

Even EA knows it's going to be a massive flop, it's why they cut off bioware's access to SWTOR's dev team.

Why is everyone still talking about these studios? They're dead, let them go.

The last two game directors for Dreadwolf left. This is the new guy.

Good thing I haven't eaten anything yet or I would've thrown up. What a nauseating display. Let's hope this crap releases soon so that BioWare will finally be put out of it's misery. It's the one studio EA should've closed a long, long time ago.

Seems like a premature decision. They could've just pivoted towards full blown gay/incest/bestiality simulators. Swen did it, and now he's filthy rich.

Swen got rich despite that because it's a good game. Nu-bioware couldn't make a good game if their wife's boyfriend's life depended on it.

regardless of game's actual quality, Swen would've been living on the streets by now if not for the gay bear going viral among the degenerate normies.

It already sold something like 3 million copies in early access prior to any degenerate content being added.

they've been spending the money earned during the early access period on BG3's further development. The bear is what propelled the game into the smash hit territory, otherwise it would've sold merely OK which isn't enough to keep multiple studios across the whole globe running.

As part of this transition, we are eliminating approximately 50 roles at BioWare.
Bioware is going to be shut down once they manage to force the aborted fetus that is the next dragon age out the door.
The employees in Edmonton cost them almost nothing. Would expect that to stay open even if they don't get to keep the name or work as lead on a project.

somehow the ******** avoided getting the chop. Instead they fired a writer who did the based Qunari for DAO and DA2, and a technical director who's been working with frostbite and helped them ship anthem.

Imagine choosing who to fire and you pick the one person left who has been there for more than 5 years.

Amazing how long Bioware takes to finish. When was the last time they made a new game that people enjoyed? Dragon Age Origins was the last one that was mildly enjoyable for me.

Once? They took away TOR's revenue to light a fire under Edmonton. It looks like that didn't work, so the next step was to cut their funding. It gets worse from here.

From the perspective of triage it makes sense to fire higher-paid senior employees instead of the a greater number of juniors. She's also "just" a writer and Gaider's talked about how Bioware management grew to resent the writers because of the cost of voice acting and cinematic dialogues. Firing senior programmers would be a backwards decision, but if you don't care about writing, firing a senior writer is an easy call to make.

Based Qunari and detract Varric = about net zero

Honestly none of the writers there are worth a ****, DAO happened fifteen years ago and Bioware of that time is long gone. It doesn't rest on the shoulders of a handful of holdovers from that era. That Bioware died soon after DAO was released.

The ending was ****, but I enjoyed Mass Effect 3. The citadel dlc was pretty funny and the gameplay wasn't bad for popamole.

Social media lets these shitcans make an international tragedy out of something as mundane as getting laid off. A cushy job and guaranteed salary are not normal for 9/10 of the world.

Who lead the layoffs / who decided who gets chopped?

My headlarp here is that EA demanded they cut costs.. and since the patients are running the asylum in Edmonton now.. the 5 ****** HR + Directors left at bioshit, got in a room and talked about which people were problematic to their vision of nuu-Bioxere.

That woman probably stuck to her guns on some foundational pillar of the lore and didn't let it get pozzed up.. plus... and far more importantly.. had two x chromosomes. They never had a chance.
She's as pozzed and apologetic as it comes. This is purely about money.

Is that really the reason? It's likely they draw more money and are perceived as not valuable / worth it.
I am positive people with fatter paychecks survived the chop.

Yeah it'd be daft to just sort employees by salary and cut the ones at the top first, that would get rid of management in its entirety. :P It would also hurt them to lose too many senior programmers. Here was a writer who was getting paid more than several other writers, they consider writing unimportant or fungible, easy decision to make to save them from having to fire two people instead of her.
