That's it. That's the real description.A new action game based on the concept of the ARMORED CORE series that uses the knowledge gained from FromSoftware's recent action game development.
I don't really know how to describe it. It's basically an action game. Nothing close to a sim like Mechwarrior. The Japanese idea of giant robots are too agile and fast and don't even feel like robots imo. It's a good series though. I'm excited to play a new one after years of nothing but Dork SoulsAcrux wrote: ↑ July 26th, 2023, 03:13Somehow, I've never heard of this series. Hoping it was a tactical mech game (I still haven't found one as good as MissionForce: CyberStorm) I looked at the official description:

I have to agree, unfortunately.KnightoftheWind wrote: ↑ August 22nd, 2023, 20:33No idea what to think about this game. One thing I do know is that From Software's PC ports are always terrible at launch, so I wouldn't even consider getting it brand new.

I was playing before your boss opened your wage cage. There's nothing to say. You either like a thing or you don't. I don't like how fast it feels, I don't like the energy sword, I don't like the dual stick controls.Eyestabber wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2023, 23:48Since none of you fucktards are actually playing the game, my first impressions (30 minutes in): combat seems interesting and fun so far, vertical movement is very nice and I definitely feel like this has potential to be good, we'll see. One thing I'll point out straight away is that this game might suffer from the same "disconnect" as The Surge, perhaps even more so, since everything is a robot and so are you. Story is...whatever, go there, kill stuff, get a paycheck, that's cool. You lose money based off damage and wasted ammo, so that's a thing. I like that you can buy and sell parts at the same price, essentially letting you try out whatever you may fancy without having to restart the game if you end up with a "bad" build.
I say this is worth checking out, at least.
This is should be expected with any Japanese mecha game really. The Japanese don't do sims like Mechwarrior. I kind of wonder why actually. Japanese mechs might as well be humans with as fast and agile as they are.
maidenhaver wrote: ↑ August 26th, 2023, 03:41I remember Armored Core being slower. There weren't nearly as many boosts, and movement was with tank controls or on a single stick.
I was finding the first boss fight very difficult until I decided to try and hit it with the sword thingie. 3 hits and the boss gets stunned, opening him up for more hits. The machinegun and missiles were barely doing anything. I'm not a fan of the Sekiro-style poise bars that result in long stuns when you run out. Also, why does the ******* sword have a cooldown? Smacking someone in melee and then having to finish it off with a gun feels VERY out of place. I dunno dude, the combat in general has an artificial feeling to it.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ August 26th, 2023, 14:20This AC is about closing distance with a beam sword and boosting away.

Sounds like they actually made an faithful sequel though? Instead of just diluting the series for their new fanbase.Dead wrote: ↑ September 9th, 2023, 12:39The game doesn't tick any of the boxes for journalists. It's focused on combat and customization, rather than bloat. Reviewers keep saying "it's not for everyone," which is a meaningless phrase that vaguely disparages the game without presenting a substantial argument.
It is faithful, and likely more challenging than previous entries. I remember the salt at launch because so many people had their **** kicked in by the tutorial boss, and then even more raging at the Act 1 boss filtering the **** out of *****.Jason Bright wrote: ↑ September 9th, 2023, 12:53Sounds like they actually made an faithful sequel though?
