I am very sad Fidel died according to the ending slides, but at least he died fighting. I was also surprised to manage to get Alexander to join my team. When I saw the Personality check I realized it must be important and "powered" up my otherwise 5 (with a malus rendering it 3) Charisma with all I had in my inventory and managed to succeed the check, very glad I did.
This game is one I absolutely was not ever expecting, especially that, as I recall already mentioning, was made recently. It truly feels like an older game made with modern potential like I had hoped to see when games started to get more advanced. To list all that I love would be truly just linking the game at this point. I did notice the dialogue was cut or the subtitles not matching what was spoken or missing pieces (like in the ending slide I got for Dan's factory for example), the companion AI at times felt like the game was tired of the player winning and purposefully sabotaged allies, there also were issues with the camera visuals where items were barely visible and required manouvering and quick clicking to interact with (though most issues were mitigated by the game allowing to click through walls), and on one instance my character was spawned too close to a truck during a random encounter to save a caravan, rendering it impossible for me to move and forcing a restart. These issues are all fine and dandy for me, but if I was to use the Survival difficulty option, they would be lethal, which renders issues like these unforgivable for those runs (I myself played on Normal to try the game, but will play on Survival my next playthrough so we shall see how these issues fare then).
What I really liked was, aside the care for the animations (like the coughing, and hallucinations too, having their own special idles) and the world itself, was the care given to every single character in the game and how traits the player character has, or the stats, and even status, was reacted to and accounted for. This is a game I will treasure for certain and am looking forward to more by this team if they keep the same passion as they did for this one![]()
I can also testify that, indeed, this game doesn't lose steam as it progresses. It retains the same drive it had from its start, and I deeply appreciate that too.As per my usual, but never without feeling behind it, thank you @Oyster Sauce for hosting these► Show SpoilerIf the reward thing you mentioned during the poll was not a joke, I hope you enjoy your reward also! I was afraid I wouldn't make it in time for you, but even with the exams and completing everything the game offered (as I wouldn't be playing if I just rushed through mindlessly, thus undermining the very reason why I am playing in the first place, whatever the stakes), I still managed to complete it within the month

It's only for technology related checks like dismantling water dispensers, working with computers or fixing generators.

True, there's special bonuses for every 50 stat points in a skill and they are quite good. Liked increased speed from survival and stat bonuses in dialogues from speechcraft.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 25th, 2025, 17:54iirc most of the skills are much more fleshed out in trudograd
Though it was answered before, that I saw Technology was useful to, for example, fix the generatory by myself in Red Fighter (one part of it at least), it was also very useful to understand and use old pre-war computers that gave more lore information about the different experiment that were being run, and I recall other similar things in both dialogue and world interaction with objects but there truly were quite a lot (I think fixing the car also used Technology). I myself raised it due to my character simply knowing Technology for how I pictured him and his training at ATOM thoughValter wrote: ↑ March 25th, 2025, 17:29God bless drugsDagothGeas5 wrote: ↑ March 25th, 2025, 13:05I was so geared up for the last fight, and instead it ended peacefully, I was not expecting that XD I managed to talk the General into speaking to the mushroom-experiment into finding a way to cooperate without making "mind-slaves" (Unity), I am very curious to see what will happen in Trudograd. FYI finishing gives you the privilege of making a nomination for next month's game. Requirements:
- has to have come out after Fallout 1,
- you have to at least believe in your heart that it's an RPG.
Wow that game's been nominated so many times now. Victory will come some day

Do I get the badge? I played the game before and also this month with mods, I guess it wasn't clear the way I wrote it.cdx wrote: ↑ March 20th, 2025, 12:54I played it some time ago and wanted to try mods, used Phenomenon, Neutron and a new car model. It was much less immersive but quite different and enjoyable, especially the new companion, random encounters and weapons. The new balance and writing weren't great.

By the way @Oyster Sauce I did not get the badge for finishing ATOM, I do not mind as I just love to play but just for completionism sake I wanted to let you know in case it is something that was missed or if there was some issue or similar (I personally thought it was because I said you should get the reward you mentioned and you might have wanted to pull my leg by including the badge also XD, but you do not have the badge so I was left confused).

1 Personality and 170 Stealth.
Also how does stealth work in combat? Does it only let you get the first shot in or do the other enemies go "musta been the wind" after you pop their teammate's head off?

I guess it reduces the radius of your character to get detected. You can get a surprise round this way but I think then everyone will go by their sequences.Valter wrote: ↑ March 28th, 2025, 15:52Also how does stealth work in combat? sometimes it does, but most of the time they get alerted even if you're standing pretty far while using a suppressed weapon.Valter wrote: ↑ March 28th, 2025, 15:52Does it only let you get the first shot in or do the other enemies go "musta been the wind" after you pop their teammate's head off?
I ended up locating the most dangerous guy of the group, critting him in the eyes, and then kiting the others.
@rusty_shackleford , bestow the noble Atom tag upon this noble gentleman above.
