Total War: Warhammer

For discussing tactical and strategy games. What's the difference between tactics and strategy anyways?

I like how orcs have that "waaagh" thing that basically just says sorry you have to lose now. I should have won a good 30 turns ago but they kept just magically getting to double the size of their faction every few turns and now they have double armies on every single army despite doing nothing but lose for the past like 50 turns because (??????)

EDIT: Okay I think that's the end of my Total War experiment. Completely wasted my time multiple nights doing a war that was literally a chore obligation out of a desperate hope the game would let me go back to having fun at some point and instead I just got told "nah" at every turn. **** this.
dis git got krumped by a roight fine waaaagghhh!

Opens Total War, looks inside: war
I don't recall any wars where one side was losing but then suddenly got to open the console and type "annex all" and spawn double their troops after losing for 90% of the war.
Literally occupied/razed like 15 of their cities and they're still bigger than me because they just infinite confederate. It's stupid and nonsensical. They can just eat every loss because they'll magically get double that amount of territory for free over and over again.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

If only I could use literal cheat codes to magically annex entire factions regardless of any situation and press a magical button to get free double armies.

It's not even a loss, it's just an infinite stalemate. When the player.placeatme 000extraarmy effect wears off I beat them in every fight but it doesn't matter because they'll wave a magic wand and get more territory anyway.

-Grimgor Ironhide, probably

but ye greenskins and norsca get a special mechanic where if they beat the faction leader of their own race they confederate them, essentially being "i just beat the **** out of your leader, i'm better than him, join me" so they can snowball pretty hard

Does anyone know if there's a mod that stops the change/spread of faction specific trees/vegetation? Like when you're the Empire and conquer Bretonia, you get empire trees on the map instead of the original bretonian ones.

I only found mods that turn this up even more. I despise that mechanic, makes zero sense

Is there a mod that let's you recruit defeated faction leaders of the same race? @Reichspepe
Or gives Imrik a different start? I might just break down and try Tyrion but I really really really still want Imrik.

Try this one for the lords:

I think one of these would be alright for your start problem:

Hmm maybe I could try confederating and then switching Imrik over to Ulthuan and just basically abandoning his starting area...

Thank you, although this is for Warhammer III it seems so I will probably have to stick with my original plan of doing it manually.

You don't even need to defeat them, you can basically just confederate them if the AI feels like they are about to lose to someone else, and you have good relations with them. You get a temporary decrease in relations with other High Elves, and can't consecutively confederate, but it's worth it to have access to the other Lord, who you can recruit again, even if he dies.
There are plenty of mods that improve the Warhammer 2 experience, including removing some of the AI cheats if that's something that annoys you.
The good thing is that there are no more updates for Warhammer 2, so a lot of the mods actually work and haven't been abandoned.

I tried to start it up but it's such a ballache sorting the proper order of over 100 mods and whether or not some conflict.
The game is just also really slow to start up & load, so you can't quickly test a campaign.

Do you guys fight the battles or are you dirty autoresolvers?
I'm playing Imrik Warhammer 2 on hard, so I tend to fight each battle manually unless the enemy is so meagre that they wouldn't even damage me in auto-resolve.

Like 75% auto resolve so far.
I don't know about TWW2, but autoresolve on easy difficulty in TWW3 can trip you up pretty badly due to how the mechanic is implemented:

About the mod load order, the one I posted worked for me. No need really to make adjustments in the respective categories beyond what's in the post.
