One of the guys says he will go to dead city once his quest line finishes, but if you already did the dead city content he doesn't show up. Or somesuch.

I assumed them having no conclusion was the point, since it's pretty heavy-handed "crypto bad" messaging.

And I am done with ATOM RPG. A little tedious at times but dare I say better than Fallout 1/2? Yes, yes it is.

Other than a couple fo2 total conversions it's the only game I've played that felt like the designers understood Fallout.

The guys in the Krasnoznamenny suburbs--I think they're behind the fortune teller's house--talk about pine cones like they're crypto to convince you to buy them. As far I know, that goes nowhere, which I figured was the point.

Should I hang on to Scrap Metal for reasons besides crafting? I love the crafting system, but am not using it as much as when I was under-equipped and it is weighting me down heavily now. With "reasons" I mean with quests or someone that might want it.

You can get hundreds of units of scrap metal at the scrapyard. Unless you're planning on using it soon, I wouldn't worry about keeping it.

I do believe this might be more than just an easter egg, but I love it either way. I had actually found this item in the past but I did not have enough on me to heal out of the radiation and would die while on the map until I noticed that alcohol and milk can reduce radiation, which I have on me because I expect there might be NPCs that might ask for these items (and it did happen in the past like with the fisherman in the first town). I love these mechanics, makes items have even more value besides being possibly quest-related.

You could really feel the misery in the place and the people. If that was one of the points the devs wanted to drive home, good job... What's wrong with slav devs? It's always depressioncore with them.

Really? Half the dialogue from the townsfolk goes

"The town is dying... the younguns are leaving..."
"Oh, this is no way to live... but don't tell the Head I said that... I guess it could be worse..."
"Bandits killed my husband... They take half of everything... but at least I'm not dead..."

Maybe it's just perspective. Some misery is expected but it seemed to me that the town is quite alive, has some hopeful people and a possibility for growth.

I wanted to ask, is there a reason why on Steam the game and its expansion are packed so strangely? Not sure how best to explain, I noticed games can usually be bought together, yet ATOM is the first one that is divided in pieces and the packs for it exclude items instead of just packing them all together (for example, there is a pack for the DLC and the base game, and a pack for the DLC and the supporter packs of the DLC, yet there is nothing for the DLC, base pack and the DLC's supporter things all together).

The "DLC" is a standalone expansion, AFAIK there's no DLC for either game beyond the supporter packs.

Finally found the time to start ATOM RPG.

Endurance 8
Dexterity 10
Intellect 10
Attention 5
Personality 5
Luck 1

Distinctions:
Glutton
Anabolics Fan

Skills:
All character creation points into 'Speechcraft' bringing it to a starting value of 60.

I'm hoping that the carrying weight increase from Anabolics Fan will make up for the low strength... luck being 1 feels like it may come back to bite me though. Hopefully this won't lead to an onslaught of Fallout style critcal misses.

Yes, honestly companion endings felt somewhat random except Hexogen perhaps. It would be good if the game had more interactions with the companions so they can have different endings depending on how you treat them.
