Still looking forward to it. Looking good, but KCD2 was really somewhat of a reality check.

I just still can't understand why they thought the original demo was ANY good. This looks so much better.

AFAIK they hired some archolos & enderal devs (?) after the overwhelmingly negative feedback of the demo which may be the reason for the changes.

I didn't know that, but **** that would be amazing. If they also have some degree of decision-making that is.

I am cautious after Baldur's Gate 3, but this does look promising. One of the very few instances where even I could recognize a face (Diego) though it was changed, which bodes well to how they are sticking to fidelity.
I like that the design they are going for is "how you remember" Gothic compared to going for a 1to1. I did notice that some games are recalled differently (like remembering the scenes as images after reading a book), if they can replicate such a thing it would be quite interesting (that shot of the Free Mine camp already gave me that feeling personally, as I know it was different, with a different illumination, but it "fits" in my recollection of the place).

Wanted to ask, I wish to make a purchase of Gothic 2 and 3 (which, though, I will hold off playing until an Adventurer's Guild poll happens), but I have found two different versions of Gothic 3 available on GoG, one being simply called Gothic 3 , and the other being Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition . I recall, a few posts above actually, that rusty said Gothic 3 is decent enough with mods, does that mean that it is not a good game on its own? Should I hold off on buying this one, or should I get it anyway when I will be able to?
There are only two Gothic games just like how there are only two genders, anything else is a mistake, a laughingstock, and shouldn't have existed at all.

welp I've just finished Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods, kind of sucks as it's basically the same game as Gothic 3 but smaller and linear. Still I'd rate it slightly above Gothic 3 unironically since it's pretty generous with giving EXP via quests, which makes progressing easier. Feel free to play on easy mode with this guide if you just want to try the game out without being bothered by the poor quest/NPC designs, and using a ranged build also helps. Neither Gothic 3 nor Forsaken Gods is really worth your time though.

Anyway, should I try playing Gothic 4 Arcania?

Nope rather play Risen1 then. At least until you go into the mountain half way through the story it was pretty good. Cant even remember anymore why Arcania was so bad that memory is somewhat surpressed, only can remember very little player choice and I think areas where locked through mainquest progress and the game was very linear. And you had perks on level up? Cant remember anymore has been so long since that came out. :notsureif:

It has 1/3 of the game (or less) so it kinda has to.

Gothic Forsaken Gods and Gothic Arcania weren't made by them.

Did you play Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos already?

Yeah, unfortunately it's the only worthwhile total conversion mod for Gothic 2, along with maybe Velaya but that's it.

Go ask the gothic modding community why most of them can't create a better TC mod than that then.

What do you guys think ? Should I hold off a little longer and wait for the remake ?

Play the original one first and then play the remake.
First game even has a unreal engine remaster if the old controls are too clunky for you.

True, but it was an easy one. The first demo was just unbelievably crappy. But if they truly learned from it and this one lives up, respect :salute:

Imagine a group of game developers that all understand goal one is to sell as many games as possible and resist the narcissist scumbag's urge to say "**** those gamers, I am an artist and I will make what I like because it's better and they will just have to learn to appreciate it!".

Two of those are free.
None are intent on selling games at all.
Which was your mismatched point, but somehow you tripped over your own point to miss mine.
So... good effort, needs improvement?

cod games are basically fortnite tier afaik, one of the major reasons tarkov got so popular was because every shooter is stupid as **** now with constant ****** celeb ****, skins, etc.,

sportsball games are basically the only games that don't completely **** on their customers… yet.
