I've had dozens of fights even before reaching Kuttenberg. Did you play 2 hours and that's it?

NezahualDoomer wrote: ↑ February 20th, 2025, 22:23I finished my review of this game, I didn't liked the game, it's boring, I didn't even finish it.
It's barely a game, it's more an interactive movie, there is almost no combat only talking and talking, the combat is still terrible, the world is dead and the "sandbox" aspect of the game is terrible.
It's a shame because the world and the graphics, the attention to detail is there and it makes you want to be immersed in the world but you can't, there is no gameplay to support any of that.
the economics in this game are broken, but it was the same in the first one too. Later enemies constantly drop duel swords which are worth over 1k and weight like 1,9 weight. Making money is so easy in this if you are willing to wait until merchants restock money in kuttenberg. Another problem is there are almost no high tier armor sets or unique weapons you can find in the wild without a quest. And the nuremberg armor set doesnt even have legs or torso in this. In the first game it had. And yes if you only play the mainstory its a movie game where choices dont really matter. But the critique that the world is empty I cant agree with plenty of random encounters exists if you quick travel. Plenty to explore once you have that perk which clears the fog of war on the map. But Kuttenberg area is surely too big and not much fun with this crime system 30-50% the buildings arent even accessible but it seems all the npcs there make my game hickup for 0,2 sec every 6sec if I run arround in the city and even the fps boost mod or a new graphic driver didnt help for that and neither lowering the graphic settings. Dont had those issues in the wild or in the first map.
This Random encounters are not in the map happening organically they just spawn at certain moments as you just said: while fast traveling and often times they don't even appear even though I used a mod that supposedly increased the rate of this ecnounters it didn't help.Vaako wrote: ↑ February 21st, 2025, 01:02But the critique that the world is empty I cant agree with plenty of random encounters exists if you quick travel. I played the game, I got up in my horse rode into a certain direction even purposefully going into the forest areas to find "something" there is nothing, most of the time you find nothing at the very best you maybe find a chest and this is like a VERY rare thing to find and if you are really, really lucky you may even find a bandit camp but I never did.
I mean you can deny all of this if you want but if criticism isn't made the developers are going to think that what they are doin is sufficient which isn't true.
Did you have the perk which shows all points of interest on the map? While its not optimal and maybe feels like busy work it still gives something to explore. Yes the map is giant and not as dense as other rpgs. But with all the sitequests I will easiely have over 120hours played and maxed all stats/skills. Even if lot of cows/sheep and pigs have to die for that.NezahualDoomer wrote: ↑ February 21st, 2025, 01:40This Random encounters are not in the map happening organically they just spawn at certain moments as you just said: while fast traveling and often times they don't even appear even though I used a mod that supposedly increased the rate of this ecnounters it didn't help.Vaako wrote: ↑ February 21st, 2025, 01:02But the critique that the world is empty I cant agree with plenty of random encounters exists if you quick travel. Thinking about doing my next run with the alcoholism debuff of -10 attributes and only use fist fighting and see how far I come.
I know. People care more about bringing someone down than lifting the world up (through art in this instance).Kain wrote: ↑ February 21st, 2025, 02:16Tons of money and time are wasted on this ritual humiliation. No wonder the world is ****.
You should realize that the greatest people on Earth are those who are very good at bringing their enemies down. It's hard to lift anything up if asshats keep getting in your way.Breathe wrote: ↑ February 21st, 2025, 02:39I know. (1) Composer and orchestra (2) World designers (like with Cyberpunk) are probably the two best teams on KCD2.
Quests get much less absurdly talky further into the game, so that is good.
The main weakness, besides the obvious, is lack of reactivity and boredom. It is very open world but not very reactive. The combat is even somewhat boring. There is little reason to explore because little to do in places. Nothing even to loot. (Realistic, yes, boring also yes.) It would have been very easy to fix, by making more clutter objects valuable and removable and giving some more cash sinks to the player, a la Thief.
Edit. And combat would have been more interesting had they just added maybe some "extra heavy" windup attacks. Maybe just two more animations. For a strong attack when hitting from behind at least. That would speed up battles 3X.

That is what sucks, they have actually corrupted the aspiration of youth to better the world.Breathe wrote: ↑ February 21st, 2025, 02:39I know. When I was young, I didn't look at how I needed to stop this or that, to object, impede, or obstruct various targets.
I looked at things from a perspective of "Man, how can we make this better!" even if it was something as mundane as a wrench or fork. I was wide eyed to the possibilities of the future and honestly wanted time to progress at a faster pace so I could see what would come next, even dreamed about if I could only live as long as possible to see the wonders that would become.
Now I dread time moving forward and would rather kick off sooner than later so as to avoid the complete ******* **** show that the future has in store for us all.
Talk about killing the very aspect of human aspiration to better the world.

That's not a fair comparison because MHW didn't release on the PS5, the Xbox Series S, or the Xbox Series X.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ February 28th, 2025, 22:00Just so we're clear, this is what a successful AAA launch looks like in terms of player count

Funny if true. Devs completely buckbroken by twitter fights.
That's boosted by China so not typical, unless you think every AAA game should be Chinaslop.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ February 28th, 2025, 22:00Just so we're clear, this is what a successful AAA launch looks like in terms of player count

China had a plurality, not a majority. Given that large "Other" the majority of sales came from Europe as expected.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ February 28th, 2025, 23:26*china is #1 by a significant amount*Roguey wrote: ↑ February 28th, 2025, 23:23Well yeah, a game like KCD isn't going to appeal to the average Chinese guy, they're not westaboos.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ February 28th, 2025, 22:57

Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.

Currently at the second.
Skipping most of the mainquest. Robbing some nobles on a melee/heavy weapon build and depopulating some villages, while running arround without plate armor this time. And wanna see how much charisma matters while doing romances this time while being bloody/stinky all the time. (skipped those in the first playthrough)
Probably do a third playthrough once all dlcs are out. But I am probably done after that.
