The music seems good.

But the primary way to make this game better would have been to cut half of it. And put in more hostile encounters. Then make fighting faster.

3/4 of each dialogue should have been cut.

"What do you think of cucumbers?"
"Eh? What?"
"Huh?"
"The dog was barking. Didn't hear."
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"So about cucumber."
"What about them."
"As a noble sir, do you like them?"
"Well yes, you see, my grandmother ate them three times and said they were good."
<Cinematic Flashback> GRANDMOTHER eating CUCUMBERS.
BACK IN PRESENT:
"Well, there you go."
"I'd like to eat one."
"Okay here."
KNIGHT #3 eats CUCUMBER.

Notification: +2 Health Restored

Tutorial Popup: How to eat
Put in mouth using W
If you press E instead of W, you will put up arse and fail minigame.
The item will be wasted.

Tutorial Close: Cinematic Ends.

After everything I have seen I believe this is a legit in-game dialogue

Of course number will be lower this weekend, every SP games peaks first weekend. But 250k concurrent players is certainly decent, as sad as it is.
Not breaking 2 million yet reaffirms my belief that it sold just OK, and definitely below expectations.
Again, I disagree. I think it's within their lower-mid range of expectations. We probably won't see mass layoffs soon, but also no KCD3 with an increased budget.
I think that another go with KCD3 won't be as successful as this though.

It is anecdotal, but from various comments from people I know in the normie realm, there is a bit of buyer remorse concerning KCDII as some have come to see after playing it how woke it is and didn't realize how much until they got a bit into the game (and could no longer return it).

I think most of the influencers still down playing it are showing who they really are with all of this.

I don't think KCD3 is going to be as easy as a sell KCD2 was and it will likely have tons of bad responses to it all through its marketing and development.

They are. A lot of them are now outright saying that they have never been anti-woke or used the word woke in any of their videos or X posts. This proves that these people are unprincipled grifters. These people were just dopamine merchants telling their audience what they wanted to hear but the moment they became the new access media they gladly sold out and lied to their audience for those sweet, sweet shekels. A lot of people don't realize this when they read the story in the Bible about Judas's betrayal of Jesus is that the story has a moral. The moral is that any man, regardless of who he is, has a price on their soul and will gladly sell both it and their lord for that price.

Pretty concerning to see that the console market is practically dead if they're getting virtually no sales on those platforms.

I wouldn't even take a PS5 for free. No idea why consoles gave up on having exclusives (although I am grateful they did!).

Personal computers aren't a direct competitor the way Microsoft and Sony are to each other. Valve and the Steamdeck might change that, but it could be too late.

Those things aren’t the consoles we knew any more. Back in the past you had to just buy a game disk put it in and play. No subscriptions, unstable cloud services, meta gaming, forced internet game file downloads, 50gb fixes, annoying ads, rules of conduct, region bans and other crap. And there are no modchips for modern consoles to run pirated games. The consoles are dying because they changed their nature and became predatory service providers with ****** games.

It's not just that they've turned consoles into gimped PCs with none of the advantages of either console or PC, but that there's also no worthwhile exclusives.

Say what you want about Nintendo, but they understand it's the games that sell a console, so they always make sure they will have a bunch of quality games exclusive for the system.

Sony has killed off all their competent Japanese developers, first in an attempt to turn every first-party dev into a Naughty Dog, and then by trying to transform them all into GaaS slop factories.

Now they're stuck with a bunch of disastrous GaaS products bleeding their coffers, while the rest of their developers are busy making cinematic, woke trash that takes a whole console generation to release, costs as much as a Hollywood blockbuster to develop and struggle to break even. The most recent State of Play showed that Sony had basically nothing in the pipeline, with their two "big hitters" - Wolverine and Cuckmann's game, not coming out before 2026 at the latest.

I think the only consoles I really played to any length were Pong, ColecoVision, and Nintendo. I had a Super Nintendo and a PS1, but they were gifts/won and I really didn't have any games for them so only occasionally rented something if it was of interest. Past that, Consoles were kind of crappy IMO (I didn't like their focus and design) and I just played PC games which obviously was a major downer when they took over the PC market and now every PC game is a console game for computers. /sigh

Timeline that I fear the most is woke games becoming 'good' enough for normies who won't care too much about reddit being sprinkled here and there, and the chuds becoming ghettoized as their fulminations appear more and more unhinged to the masses.
Already happened. Ever heard of the Last of Us? Yes, even the first game was woke and garbage.

Ever heard of ******* Baldur's Gate 3? Woke to the ******* gills but lauded as the "best game of a generation" that "revolutionized the gaming landscape" and "a perfect masterpiece". Sure, BG3 has good gameplay for a CRPG but the story is so trash and filled with woke **** that stuff like No Alphabets and Better Aesthetics mod is required and makes it barely tolerable. And everyone and their mother is claiming that BG3 is not woke (except the based chuds, of course), that Last of Us is a great game instead of movie slop that was also woke, and that KCD2 is definitely not woke, even though it's arguably more woke than even ******* BG3 since at least BG3 let you kill the **** and ******, whereas KCD2 is a huge humiliation ritual for the white christian heterosexual main character, Henry, and thus by proxy, a non stop humiliation ritual for the Player.

Normies are essentially women. If their surrounding circle of influence, and the garbage "internet personalities" they follow tell them something is not woke and it's "fun" and "OK to consoom" then they are happy. They don't want to be socially ostracized for liking the wrong thing and disliking the right thing. That's how we get ******** stuff like the "queers for Palestine" ****.

And this is why RPGHQ is arguably the last remaining safe haven where you can express your opinion without being banned for using 'the wrong words' or having 'the wrong mindset'.

TLDR: Become a paypig for the RPGHQ now.

Dialogue bloat seems to be a major recurring issue in the RPGs of today. You would think full voice acting would encourage the devs to trim the fat, but apparently not.

I have a suspicion that they view word count as a positive metric. What else is one to think when he sees some games advertising how many words they have? It's the "more is better" mentality.

Yes, but an excessive dialogue-to-action ratio is not good, and the dialogue in most games tends to be "serviceable" at best. More of "serviceable" is not good. More words without game to back it up is not good.

Perhaps. I think its almost impossible to predict now. If there is a KCDIII it might be released in 2032 or so.

There was a picture earlier in this thread where they were bragging about how many stacks of paper their scripts were on, so yes, they do see more words as a good thing.
