No unfortunately not. Other games kinda got in the way and I thought I'd finish the games that are quicker to complete.Val the Moofia Boss wrote: ↑ February 1st, 2025, 05:50@Finarfin did you get further into Granblue Fantasy Relink? Thoughts? Likes? Dislikes?

I've been having a great time with this game. It's about racing your penguin to the bottom of 4 different courses and getting points based on your ending position. It seems simple enough but there is a surprising amount of strategy when it comes to timing your dashes properly in a race. Sometimes it's better to save your dashes until some penguins are in front of you to chain dashes together or get to shortcuts you wouldn't get to otherwise. Even after 80+ hours, I'm still finding new strategies and ways to optimize the way I race.
[You will need to sign in to your Epic account but only once. The reason for this is because the developers tried to enable crossplay on Steam but refused to work for whatever reason so they had to resort to using Epic servers instead.]

That description sounded like Mario Kart. In that vein, are there any balancing mechanics similar to the blue shell or lightning?

Sadly, there are no items besides a parachute that pops up once you fall behind enough as a sort of "Bullet Bill" in order to give you a winning chance. That would certainly help the game become a lot more dynamic though. More sardine cans pop up the slower you are as well so you aren't completely screwed for a false start.
Everyone has a fair chance at winning although people who are experienced in the course layouts + strategies have a clear advantage.
How easy are both of these games to drop in and out of? My case being someone who can't dedicate an amount of play time in advance and might have to check out at a moments notice.Roguey wrote: ↑ February 7th, 2025, 21:55Finished Robocop: Rogue City. Plays a lot like Terminator Resistance, only not as good on account of all the changes they had to do to make it feel like a Robocop game. It's about as good as a Robocop game can be I suppose, though a bit padded, a bit too much wandering around in the Detroit map you keep returning to. I was surprised to see that, unlike with Resistance, they didn't make Robocop 3 explicitly non-canon, and in fact set it up, given that I don't think anyone even likes that one. I guess the license-holder may have actually refused to let them to do that for whatever reason.
Terminator Resistance has autosaves and savepoints scattered across its maps. Robocop is completely dependent on autosaves. I feel like I've gone as long as 40 minutes or longer before getting a new savepoint in the latter, so not something I started unless I felt like I had at least a full hour to play.Jordy wrote: ↑ February 7th, 2025, 22:07How easy are both of these games to drop in and out of? I feel like I enjoyed the first a little bit more, but hard to tell after only playing once and some years in between. Still good fun, besides running into one game-ending bug

The second game's gameplay is better than the first, balanced a lot of the more broken parts by stealing the best element of Undying. The plot is the exact same as Bioshock which is the exact same as System Shock 2 though except more jewish. For games that are "remastered" both need fixpacks to make them functional. All in all though they're playable games whereas Infinity is a festering pile of **** that should be avoided at all costs.1998 wrote: ↑ February 8th, 2025, 16:29Bioshock 2 Remastered. I recall reading something about Levine not being a fan of Bioshock 2. It's a lot less Jewish than the first and its commentary is focused on socialism bad instead of objectivism bad.Tweed wrote: ↑ February 9th, 2025, 22:00The second game's gameplay is better than the first, balanced a lot of the more broken parts by stealing the best element of Undying. Infinite has a nice presentation and decent gunplay/shooter mechanics, so you can sort-of enjoy it if you want to play Call of Duty-like game with magic abilities and verticality.1998 wrote: ↑ February 10th, 2025, 02:28I was about to ask if I should even bother with InfinityTweed wrote: ↑ February 9th, 2025, 22:00The second game's gameplay is better than the first, balanced a lot of the more broken parts by stealing the best element of Undying. American Krogan's got an excellent video on how subversive the first and third games are. Here's a mirror talking about the first game.1998 wrote: ↑ February 10th, 2025, 03:09Huh..that could work for me. It's really bland. Only three-four enemy types not counting bosses, and they all have a shitton of health so even the regular enemy grunts require you to dump half a mag of ammo into their heads. Small pool of weapons, most of them become useless on harder difficulty levels so you'll end up always using the default assault rifle with an underbarrel chainsaw attachment. The gameplay loop is just the same thing repeated over and over, with a slight change in scenery and enemies. And even the scenery always looks the same - boring grey bombed out ruins.
Surprising this game was big enough to become a series. I did enjoy the whole dudebro macho thing, but back then it was a norm so I doubt it played a role in the game's success.
Hm, I remember its having a reputation for that even at the time; it went beyond the normal standard of video game manliness.wndrbr wrote: ↑ February 10th, 2025, 07:50I did enjoy the whole dudebro macho thing, but back then it was a norm so I doubt it played a role in the game's success.

perhaps, idk. I remember how everyone complained about the overabundance of grey dudebro military shooters, so it could've actually played a negative role.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ February 10th, 2025, 07:53Hm, I remember its having a reputation for that even at the time; it went beyond the normal standard of video game manliness.wndrbr wrote: ↑ February 10th, 2025, 07:50I did enjoy the whole dudebro macho thing, but back then it was a norm so I doubt it played a role in the game's success.
@Decline Let's revive the dominions hq multiplayer! I want to kick this west asian's *** in that gameHumbaba wrote: ↑ February 4th, 2025, 20:28Dominions 6. Finally figured out how to expand with LA Marignon. Noticed several good changes, like blood hunting no longer being **** easy and sieges taking a lot longer, unless you roll up with 300+ troops. Forts also take a lot longer to build it would seem. The new glamour path is a good change, because it means that there are many new cool magic items you can forge. 50 doolers is still extremely steep but I paid it anyway because I'm desperate.
