So far the intro is pretty long which is unfortunate. It really does seem like there are zero developers who are willing to offer the elegant simplicity and freedom of Morrowind's quick easy start up. That being said I do like how dialog options let you flesh out Henry and your build depending on how you want his starting skills to be reflected. Something like this would be nice in a less story focused RPG without a defined protagonist where you could give yourself a bit of backstory while picking your starting skills. Sort of like traits in New Vegas but less abstracted and done through dialog.
The little bit of combat I've done has me feeling mixed. Unless I'm missing a dedicated lock on button the dead zone for the mouse is really wonky. I have to move the mouse around to pick my sword position but if I move it too far Henry will disengage and just look all the way in that direction.
I hope you didn't pay for this...

Pretty sure he is salty that his gotcha bait and switch didnt work because of the leaks. Probably ruined his years long plan.

Also watching synth stream right now, I dont think he ever really read up how the first game worked. He doesnt seem to know that stolen items need to be put in a chest for a while to lose the thievery tag. Also doesnt know what private areas are where you cant just wait... arround. Makes me wonder how he played the first game at all... probably just speed run the mainstory.
To be fair he did say that KCD isn't really his type of game but he still played it in order to compare it to KCD2 when he makes his review. Right now he says the writing is like night and day and he is right. The writing for the first game was immersive while with KCD2 it has more of the millennial writing that even normies have began to despise.
Someone didn't get the memo that people hate the millennial plebbit writing now. The dialogue in KCD 1 wasn't amazing but it was at least mostly era appropriate, but given what else is in the game, it's not surprising.

Off-tpic but I found it funny how Morrowind's opening used to be considered tedious decades before. At least according to our authoritative video computer game veteran :

It's not NEARLY as intrusive as some other games but the weird cut to third person to play an animation for every herb you collect is a really bad faux pas for this kind of game. You're going to pick hundreds of flowers over the course of the dozens of hours you play. That animation is gonna get old and tedious fast.

But muh immersion.

It's kinda amazing that the Far Cry 3 devs, who basically made the sloppiest Ubisoft slop of them all, were smart enough to identify this problem and avoid the usual pitfalls. The animations in FC3 for picking up herbs and skinning animals are very quick and simple, while still maintaining a degree of plausibility.

I'm not sure why Warhorse though a third-person animation was necessary, but I imagine making the game playable was less important than adding as many gay romances as possible.

The issue is that it does the opposite for immersion honestly. It takes you out of first person for a second and a half for no reason. It's just bizarre.

I mean Far Cry 3's are probably longer than what I'm talking about from what I recall. I wouldn't consider it a very good example lel

@rusty_shackleford I'm bored with this thread and never want to see it again, even when I click on the "Unread Posts" button.
Is there a way to do that?
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Sure would be neat if you could hit him with your sword instead of being forced to do 7 hours worth of story quests with him before getting the opportunity to wrongfully frame the innocent black scholar and let a white criminal get away

A reminder that Mali, during the time of the Ottoman Empire which this game takes place, was consider an illiterate shithole where many members of the Ottoman nobility and scholars considered to be full of subhumans. To this day it is still an illiterate shithole that continues to practice slavery. Oh and it is also 157 out of 160 countries in the gender inequality index by the UN so they really don't seem to be respectful of women as this ****** claims. Hell, lets look at one of their mosques and compare it to the cathedrals of Europe.

A complete and utter Jewish revisionism mix with their utter contempt for European Christendom.

Oh of course! How could I be so stupid and ignorant? As we all know black people invented everything and white people just stole it and claimed it as their own. I again wonder which tribe keeps pushing this belief with the black community?

The women in mali didn't even wear clothes, btw. There's records of a muslim scholar(real) traveling there and being horrified by it. Mansa giving away his servant women to be eaten by cannibals, wifes sleeping with any men they can, etc.,
