Tbf a lot are complaining about the new combat system. If some idiots can't deal with anything but dodge-rolling, that doesn't mean much.

I mean changing the combat system that completely different from the previous entry is certainly a bold choice which certainly didn’t pay off in the end.

It’s quite sad how badly spiders drop the ball with Greedfall 2,to the point I’m actually concerned that if the studio will be still be around in next couple years.

The gameplay is nothing like BG3 though

I know, it'd RTWP while BG3 was turn based. But I can't think of any other reason for the change when Spiders has refined the previous combat system for like 10 years. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Actually an interesting thought experiment how the reception would have been if they had released the exact same game, but with a new IP and heavily marketed as DAO spiritual successor.

Actually an interesting thought experiment how the reception would have been if they had released the exact same game, but with a new IP and heavily marketed as DAO spiritual successor.

Can't do that nowadays ( or at least not yet ). You need a fundamentally different sort of person staffing the dev team to think that cutting hordes of darkness in half over some Marilyn Manson music makes for a good trailer.

I'd say Zelda 1 vs Zelda 2 is a total combat overhaul, personally. It tried doing a lot more with the sword fighting that they couldn't do reasonably with the top down perspective.

There was a TON of fujo art made for it with the main character + (usually) his cousin, the developers were well aware of it and encouraged it, retweeted it, etc., Made me decide not to buy anything from them in the future.
Glad the fujo audience helped keep them alive tho, just look at how well the game is doing!

Better writing and the wokeness was far more subtle compared to modern writing where people sexuality need be highlighted in pink neon lights.

They will release the next update 27th March.

• The continuation to the main storyline;

• A new region and its biome: Olima, City of Stars;

• A new companion;

• The new Hub system;

• The start of the companion quests;

• New weapons and skills;

• Improved combat system;

• Bug fixes, and more.

They are also decreasing the number of EA updates from 4 to 2. Obviously they say those 2 will be bigger, etc...Still, not exactly a good sign.

Nostalgia blinds people who don't want to admit that wokeness applies to most media they enjoyed in the past too.
