Not really, even with the tools it's a nightmare to get it to do anything. Which is also why the Musa 'fakes' (they're not fakes btw) would be so ridiculously hard to pull off.

Part of the issue, if I read comments from modders correctly, is that you can't really modify the base game in any significant way. You can use the toolkit to create new maps, but you can't add or remove anything from the base game.

It's why modding for KCD1 is almost nonexistent, despite modding tools having been released for the game.

That's not actually entirely true. Bows were generally easier to employ quickly, and to train for.

I disagree. War bows are notorious for requiring years of training, both in strength and in the fast aim necessary to make shots count. (Because you can't hold them drawn for more than a few seconds, and generally don't.)
The English crown notoriously implemented a social program to train archers from childhood in the villages, selecting the biggest and strongest to be the longbowmen of the realm.
I would agree with you more on the lighter hunting short bows of low draw strength intended for small game and fowl.

There are treatises of the era that tell of the amazing speed with which untrained troops can be made proficient with light and medium crossbows, but that arming them was expensive compared to the standard war bows of central and southern Europe and the Middle East. (Not the greatbows of northern and western Europe, which were quite expensive as the proper wood and skill to make them was rare.)
