The quest to kill everything left in Khorinis continues and I have become a fire magician! Here's this cool mana regeneration amulet I bought.

And here's something I stole from an Araxos Runner in the upper quarter. I don't think it does anything, but it's a nice shoutout.

This ring teleports you to the shack by the lake close to the black troll when you put it on, very handy.

When you wear the speed amulet you get a long stride, not quite sprint, but much faster than walking.

I swapped out my old itemmap mod for a much better one, this thing is insane.

You can find almost anything including marks you haven't pickpocketed yet, humans you can still beat up for xp, monsters, unlooted chests, etc. If you're going to CHEAT you should do it right.

I'm tempted to buy some of this stuff, but it's pricey and my gold is getting low and Beliar is already shorting me for health which the mod bumped to 10 per 500 gold.

I also got this thing, I dunno if they mean the light leather armor or the leather armor you can buy in chapter 2 though. I also dunno how good the upgraded stuff is compared to what I'm wearing right now. You can also buy a classic water mage robe from the boys when they get to Jarkendar which also has very nice stats on it.

It's like someone really wanted a puma so they forced it over a shadowbeast model, I think this is actually from Dark Mysteries. And so it goes, time to track down the very last Sorrels, Berries, Dragonroots, and Fire Roots along with any other monsters and innocent people I can get away with beating up.
Also there's a very nice cooking recipe that let's you combine 10 dark mushrooms into one healing dish so you don't have to scarf down 50 of them one at a time.

I've come to the Valley of Mines and I'm pretty sure this wasn't here before.

Almost every merchant has something new to sell.

It acts as a mana trainer, recharger, and it can teach me the classic healing spell from Gothic 1.

I wanted to bullrush to Chapter 3 to get access to the third circle of magic. Also I picked up this mirror from the merchant in the upper quarter awhile ago.

It let's you do some personal customizations, including turning off people freaking out about you being out of faction armors, very nice. Now I'm going back to Jarkendar after I make some new spells.

I had more screenshots, but for some reason the clip doesn't want to load into vegas so we're skipping most of the bandit camp, not that any of that really changed with the mod. I'm wearing other ore baron armor, the one the body guards Scar and Arto had. All of the Gothic 1 Old Camp armors are available. Fisk sells the shadow ones and Huno sells most of the guard ones. The heavy guard armor is in chest in the temple and Scatty sells the ore baron outfit which gives the best protection you can get while still being seen as a bandit.

Now for the 100,000 gold coin question, how is the Claw of Beliar? Well, there's a lot more spells now, plus turning it into a rune is no longer a one way street.

I haven't had time to try all the spells yet, but it's gone cool ones like this badly translated mana converter.

It quickly converts health to mana, but it has a long animation afterwards where it drops you and you recover so you're not doing this in the middle of combat.

Then you have this goodie, for 40 health you can get Raven's armor.

And it's a nice number. I forgot to mention that you can sacrifice those crappy black ores you find to Beliar for 20 health each so for the cost of two ores you can get this thing for basically free. Matteo sells a plate armor that gives the same level of weapon and arrow protection, but not the same fire and magic for 5000 gold and it's not going to look this cool. Time to go hunt Seekers and test out my new claw spells.

Disposed of seekers, I send my friends home and reforge the Eye of Innos. Funny tidbit, if you forget the swampweed the ritual goes ahead but Vatras grumbles and you lose 100 xp. Mages need their drugs.

I also checked out some more of the claw spells. Mangle (seen here) is a gory version of Gesyer. Cost effective for the damage, but not all that impressive. Beliar's Wrath is unchanged and far too expensive. Bloodlust as far as I know makes enemies frenzy and attack their own, I didn't get a chance to field test it since casting it on a single enemy did nothing. Also if you get rid of the claw you can get some special spells from Adanos, I don't know what they do.

Chapter 4 begins and I did some shopping for new gear and spells. There were some spells with bad descriptions that interested me, but I had no idea what they really did so I ended up not taking them. One I was very interested in was the upgrade to earthquake which I'd used earlier to wipe out groups of weak enemies. Alas, some kind of bug keeps the spell from showing up on the rune table so I can't get it, sucks. I also bought a very ******* expensive robe which might have been a waste in retrospect aside from looking cooler. I also snagged a new staff for more mana.

I might not have gotten Vibration (Earthquake 2.0) but I did get Stone Golem and those are very nice. I also picked up Rejuvenation which as you might guess, lets me regenerate over time. Remember when I showed you the claw spell that lets me convert health to mana?

Now I effectively have infinite mana, not all at once mind you, but this lets me save on potions and if I have an army of golems to hide behind I can keep converting and summoning more and more and more. Summons have a 1 minute shelf life to prevent endless armies, but these guys dish out ungodly amounts of damage and take tons of punishment. Clearing the castle was pretty easy.

I want to finish exploring the Valley. Nostalgia incorporates the Wasteland Mod which lets you go behind the orc wall and reopens the rest of the landmass. So, what's behind the wall? Is it naked women? Is it delicious candy?

Then I go check out the shipwreck and find, yeah...so far this is looking like a near 1:1 copy of the Gothic 1 landmass down to the mob which is entirely pointless. If you're going to open up the landmass, do something interesting with it. I'm 98% sure this is optional, but still I'll explore the whole thing and check out the Sleeper's Temple and Orc Town to be completionist about it.

I made it to the swamp camp where the place was crawling with seekers and more orcs

Even though she's a vagina person of the chocolate persuasion she can heal me and cast spells which makes her rather deadly. The problem is that when I have other companions around my summons attack them.

Now, this is the kind of **** I wanted to find. War ships and the like, but this is too little, too late. There really needs to be a lot more of this kind of stuff.

Somewhere along the way I found a book written by Corristo, the old fire mage from Gothic 1. It sets of a Chromanin style quest of completely unsolvable riddles. Either I'm too stupid to figure them out, whoever wrote them is terrible at riddles, they're translated so badly as to be indecipherable, or some combination of the three.

A mana based flaming sword that does a lot of damage with the chance to do a fire burst on top, very nice.

So now I go back to the orc city to ransack the place and see what I can find.

Which is a challenge because it's blacker than my butthole at the bottom of a well in here. Guess it's finally time to use those light spells. In the end there's a load of animal skins, 5 gold pieces, and useless ****. I also got an orc fireball rune like the ones the shamans have been using which is pretty mana efficient. Other than that the rest of it was trash, but I give the place a 5/10 for effort.

So next up is the Temple of the Sleeper where everything is exactly like it was before right down to the puzzles and enemy placements.

So I'm going to spare you all that ******** and get right to the end where we find...Cor Kalom! Man, I'm shocked! SHOCKED! The final dialogue plays out again (in German) and then the fight starts.

Yup, the free mine is open and instead of old camp guards it's skeletons, **** this noise. Time to go kill the dragons and get out of here. Oh the Orc Cave was open too and at the end of that I found the ghost of Baal Kagan or whoever it was where that scene played out too (in German), my reward for that one was a guru robe and an elixir of spirit, wew lad.
