No one will judge this place is a safe space for Americans with **** taste and I'm not active enough to keep up with the bile being posted daily
1. Jagged Alliance 2
2. Fallout 1
3. The Temple of Elemental Evil
4. Fallout : Sonora (my new favorite game and the best mod among the 4 I've played (Sonora, Nevada, Resurrection, olympus 2207). Need more replays to see if this is really as good as I initally think though).
5. Gothic 2 (Barely an RPG but I can't stop replaying this, am a causal tard).
2. Fallout 1
3. The Temple of Elemental Evil

1. Gothic 2
2. Mass Effect 2
3. TES III : Morrowind
4. Dragon Age Origins
5. The Witcher 3
1. Despite being fantasy, sort of a feeling of grounded world that reacts to you, rewarding exploration, questing and mainly distinct factions is why i keep coming back.
2. I know , more like an action game with rpg elements but still. I was thinking which one of the original trilogy i like the most but 2 and attack on the collector base is probably up there as one of best memories in gaming. I would also put ME 1-3 up there as best main story overall out of all games iv ever played( the advantage of being able to tell a story over the span of 3 games instead of one clearly shows here). I cried like a ***** when i saw Shepard under the rubble at the end because it felt like i was Shepard. No other games had me sit there when the credits rolled in ME 3 wishing i would be able to forget it all and experience it again for the first time.
3. Bethesda's best game imo, feeling of an alien world filled with giant mushroom towers and coolest take on dank elves yet. Again, multiple interesting factions to join and rise trough ranks with which is something i love the most in RPGs. I enjoyed Telvanni mages the most.
4. Again, Bioware at its peak , great writing and memorable characters that i still ike to revisit.
5. Great main character, different quest outcomes, quality side quests and story telling, feeling of something familiar due to its slavic setting and themes, monsters and one of my favourite gaming soundtracks. Even the simplest monster contracts were fun.

Mage was the most rewarding though.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ January 12th, 2025, 23:57It's interesting how few games in the top spots are strictly class-based. I'm not sure if I'd even lump PST in that list because you can freely switch your class.
FYI for Fallout: Sonora I will be putting Fallout 2 as I don't want a ranking list of different mods for a handful of games. With this in mind, let me know if you want to change anything.Tinky Winky wrote: ↑ January 14th, 2025, 01:181. Jagged Alliance 2

Some of the Fallout “mods” are top 10 rpg material, that is why people keep specifically mentioning them. They aren’t just insignificant ‘mods’ that changes a few things about the base game, they are fully separate games. Just putting down Fallout 2 when people pick them is utterly ********. It’s pretty clear you haven’t played any of them and don’t know what you are talking about.Jordy wrote: ↑ January 15th, 2025, 15:08

I forgot you bitched about this before and I changed it so I'll add this in as well to stay consistent.
Additionally, what does and doesn't constitute being in this list has got to messy so next and final update will be this coming Sunday.
I’m not bitching, rather pointing out your idiocy so you will stop embarrassing yourself. It didn’t seem to work fully but you are welcome nonetheless.Jordy wrote: ↑ January 15th, 2025, 20:42Correct, I haven't played any of them.Gunnar wrote: ↑ January 15th, 2025, 20:27It’s pretty clear you haven’t played any of them and don’t know what you are talking about.

Bad news! According to the new standard shared by all of the anti-woke crowd, the overwhelming majority of games on this list are woke DEIslop trash. How embarrassing! It appears RPGHQ members are spergs with zero principles...Jordy wrote: ↑ July 28th, 2024, 10:15Welcome to our RPG ranking thread! A passion project with unmatched levels of authenticity and care.
2. Baldur's Gate 3
We may never see a game with this much reactivity again in our lifetimes.
3. Mount & Blade: Bannerlord
Although not the game it could have been, no other can rival its large scale battles and sieges.
4. Fable
Only Molyneux, con artist that he is, could have come up with the silly little systems this game has like your character physically changing over time or murdering NPCs to purchase and rent out their homes.
5. World of Warcraft (Classic)
Unforgettable memories and I've never pushed so hard to maximize performance in an RPG.
Suspect I'd put a Gothic here if I finished them.

Oh good the final update already happened so I don't have to think. Much.
I'd pick NWN: mods only I think. Some of those were so good it kind of ruined future RPGs forever. Base game was garbage though.
Despite my opinions though my most played:
Oblivion, Skyrim, FONV.

Difficult question, as the answer varies from time to time. I don't know if these are the best, but I think these are the ones that have made the biggest impact on me:
1. Dungeon Master (Started my love for the grid-based dungeon crawlers.)
2. Lands of Lore (I just love the atmosphere and the setting.)
3. Ultima IV (I probably love the idea of becoming Avatar much more than the game itself.)
4. Phantasy Star (I think this was the very 1st rpg I ever played as a kid and I hadn't learned English yet, so I didn't understand a ****, but I just loved the game, and even though I didn't get very far in it, it was just magical. I even managed to delete our family friend's all save games and he lost months worth of progress. Later I heard he wasn't happy, but he never said anything to me about it. I also confess that the masochist in me loves the 2nd one even more.)
5. Morrowind (What can I say..? It's Morrowind.)

Oh no, you caught me!
Yeah, I'm Rusty's mild mannered Scandinavian alter ego.

1. Final Fantasy Tactics ( My favorite Game OST, replayed it many times different squad setups, never get bored of it. "Innocent sword, slash evils and protect! Kiyomori!"
2. Morrowind ( *sniff* )
3. Final Fantasy 7 ( Original, not that remake fuckery bs, doesn't exist to me, never happened, I block everything I see from it. Cid, Nanaki and Barret; favorite setup to use after the Mako poisoning chapter.)
4. World of Warcraft ( Wotlk cap, everything after the ICC is a fever dream. Big bowl of Ret in the morning to start my day. Delish. )
5. KoToR II ( The invisible Hssiss farming you could do for EXP farming to lvl. I remember discovering this on my own and using it every playthrough. )
