1. Kingdom Come: Deliverance
A passion project with unmatched levels of authenticity and care.
2. Baldur's Gate 3
We may never see a game with this much reactivity again in our lifetimes.
3. Mount & Blade: Bannerlord
Although not the game it could have been, no other can rival its large scale battles and sieges.
4. Fable
Only Molyneux, con artist that he is, could have come up with the silly little systems this game has like your character physically changing over time or murdering NPCs to purchase and rent out their homes.
5. World of Warcraft (Classic)
Unforgettable memories and I've never pushed so hard to maximize performance in an RPG.

Suspect I'd put a Gothic here if I finished them.

For those that are putting a mod on a base game or saying 'Base game (modded)', I'm just going to add the base game.

@Gunnar for Fallout: Resurrection I'm going to put Fallout 2 otherwise it will be too difficult for me to keep up with different modded versions of games unless you want to switch things around.

Anyone adding a series or more than one game I'll ask for clarification and add it to the list once received. I'm not going to give 5 points to every Final Fantasy game if someone puts 'The Final Fantasy series' and similar if someone says 'Final Fantasy 7 and 10'.

Your list would be obscure table top games from the 60s that maybe 9 people have played. The 2020s version of underground kvlt black metal.

Fallout: Resurrection is its own game made in the Fallout 2 engine, not a modded version of Fallout 2.

Just ask for clarification if needed on anything.

All this time I thought there were more than two genres and Deus Ex was an Immersive Sim.

This list is pointless if you do that; it’ll just be another list of all the same games. Fallout: Resurrection is much better than Fallout 2 and ditto for Hearkenwold. Id rather just not participate at all if you want to only list base games like that

I think he assumed it was just a fan patch for Fallout 2.

1. Legends of Zelda: Twilight Princess
2. Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
3. Baldur's Gate 3
4. Final Fantasy IX
5. Dragon Age: Origins
Do people really think Zelda is an RPG? Might as well be any game set in a medieval fantasy world then.

Ok, if you want a quick list, here are some games I enjoyed a lot.

1. Wizardry 5 and 6,
2. Fallout
4. Baldurs Gate 2
3. Diablo 1 with hell mod
5. Final Fantasy Tactics / Disgaea
If you could alter your list to have 1 game in each slot that would be great.

I'll just be putting Diablo 1 so feel free to adjust if you want.

1. Morrowind
2. Dragon Age: Origins
3. Divinity: Original Sin 2
4. Dragon's Dogma (if I must choose one of the three, I'll pick Dark Arisenβ€”the first oneβ€”due to it currently being the most complete)
5. Mass Effect 1

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is also a major runner-up, but genuinely the only thing that keeps it from being a top five for me is that our character is forced to speak like a flippant street rat even when playing the superior clans. Hurts the RP factor for me. Honorary mention to Elden Ring, also.

1. Dragon Age Origins

2. Baldur's Gate 3 (Early Access only)

3. Dragon's Dogma

4. Icewind Dale 2

5. Kenshi

There are others I am sure, but I don't look at the genre and just play the game if I like it. I do not recognize the Baldur's Gate 3 that came out as a "full game" as the game I played, so, in case the vote wouldn't count, do use this list below instead:

1. Dragon Age Origins

2. Dragon's Dogma

3. Icewind Dale 2

4. Kenshi

5. World of Warcraft (Wrath of the Lich King and before)

I am putting emphasis on playing a character for this list (how good/immersive it feels to play as a character in the game). Would have put ******* Bonds, Starsector and Hand of Fate (second one), but I have not come around to fully play those games yet to really judge.
I'm going to take your 2nd list. Most would probably agree with the Baldur's Gate 3 thing but I'm trying to avoid grey areas. Let me know if you want to change anything.

1. Pool of Radiance
2. Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant
3. Might & Magic II: Gates to Another World
4: Grimoire: Heralds of the Winged Exemplar
5: Might & Magic: World of Xeen

The Gold Box games were the pinnacle of AD&D computer gaming for me, and I designate Pool of Radiance in the top spot for that reason. I think the entire Moonsea tetrology, transferring the party all the way to Pools of Darkness was my favorite cRPG experience. I also love big open worlds with non-linear exploration, and large adventuring parties, too (Six to Eight characters).

If I go by the amount of time played. The first 2 easiely win.

1. Morrowind modded
2. Baldurs Gate 3 modded.
3. Kingdom Come Deliverance
4. Mount and Blade series. never played that Pendor mod tho.
5. Gothic 2

But Lufia2, Chronotrigger, Fallout NV, Vampires Masquerade are also really nice, just dont have that much replayability for me.
If you can clear up the Mount and Blade series bit with one game I'll get that added.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is classed as an action adventure game on Wikipedia. Would you agree and want to change it? Never played it so not sure myself.

Well, as for MM, my fav would be World of Xeen but that's intrinsically multiple games, I'll go with VII (I think it's the one I have in mind, they tend to mix up in my memory). As for IE games, I played and liked all of them for different reasons. Just pick one if needed.
VII is also the one I really want to list. It's certainly in my personal Top 10.

Having to choose just 5 is painful. A top 20 with the same point weight rules would be a lot more useful. The hobby is deep enough to have more than 5 games worth mentioning.
I went with 5 as a middle ground because I figured people would struggle to pick only 3 and 10 might be too much.

Happy to change it if enough people think otherwise but we'd have to start over or have a separate lists.
Yea you'd better restart the whole entire thing over again.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

What I'm trying to avoid is a list that looks like:

Diablo 2
Skyrim: Big booby mod
Skyrim: Thicc Edition
Diablo 1
Skyrim: Small bum, big boobies and I can kill children
Xenogears
Skyrim: But only with x quest mod
Skyrim: But only with x quest mod and you can marry furries mod

Now Rusty has clarified I will be making the changes once I get all the others added.

I'm happy to have expansions seperately on here so could you clarify if you want 5 to be Baldur's Gate II or Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal?
