It is though, you make build decisions with your available spell schools. You interact with npc factions by doing quests or attacking them. You equip your units/heroes with items/runes/demonic possession. Your build can be **** or completely broken given enough game knowledge and effort.

There is even hints of romance

Circuit is the worst race. Sprint is a nice scenic route, Drag is high-octane gear-shifting action, Drift is very fun.
Circuit is just running in circles for way too long. Boring.

What a rough-looking list. Lots of brutally bad writing, barely a single jrpg worth digging into. BG3 had the best combat, but I won't vote for it because of all the gay ****.

So then we move on to games that I liked, but that shouldn't really be in the GOTY running. I had a lot of fun with lords of the fallen so that gets an easy vote. I also loved The Last Spell for quite a while, but it had an update that ruined character stats/builds so it only gets a lukewarm vote. Octopath Traveler was fun for a while but ran out of steam and I didn't quite finish it but I would still give it the nod over any Legend of Overwrought Worldbuilding Slop game.
