Played a few hours on release but it just ran like *** even though other games that are brandnew like Space Marine 2 ran perfectly fine. ******* waste of my money, should've bought Slitterhead instead that month.

Feels random recently, but Stalker actually runs solid for me 70-80 FPS. I had to restarted once after it crashed down to 15. It just feels so soulless. Will be a slog getting through it.

Decided to try this **** out with repack download from fitgirl, with this optimization mod https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heart ... escription it actually runs on my ancient PC, managed to finished it without encountering any major glitches (the ward route 'cos the Zone sucks). And holy **** this game sucks so bad, the game too ******* bloated with too many ******* enemies. after the half way (SIRCAA) it fully degenerates into cover shooter #1468 with 1.5km+ of distance between missions, and over half of main story quests are dungeon crawling ****. I have to lower the difficulty to easy and basically forced myself to finish it. Not recommend even without all the glitches, and this is coming from someone who has multiple playthrough on the original trilogy.

Just only finished the first zone, probably I would enjoy it more if I could fully focus on it and not play a random hour here and there.

But without being too dramatic, that AI is one of the worst in recent memory. And they know it. I was approaching some enemy base, tried to scout it out with my sniper and only saw on enemy sniper in his nest. Already a bit weird, but whatever, took him down, crawled up his tower, had a perfect view over the entire base and not a single enemy in sight. You have played this scene dozen of times, it was just weird.

So I climbed down and what do you know. 6 enemies are spawning right in front of me. Obviously straight up the tower. Half of the enemies were crouching around the base of the tower, shouting random nonsense, they can't climb up to save their lives. The other half were throwing grenades. I am about 100ft high, those grenades just fall on their ******* heads.

Then underground, close combat. The way to the objective I was full on in sniper stealth mode, way out shotgun stealth. Usually if you see an enemy he is just looking down searching for his **** or something.

It's also very predictable, and there is zero actual danger in the zone. Also this they are very aware of and have some nonsense radiation meter that increases no matter where you are, plus a very fast increasing hunger meter. Obviously they are extremely easy to manage, so might as well not be there.

I like that it's dark and you need your flashlight. Other than that there were maybe 2-3 scenes that I thought were quite interesting the rest is just boring.

Slava Ukraini and Happy New Year, boys...

For me it actually runs surprisingly good and stable. Had to restart 3-4 times though because FPS plummeted to ~10, other than that its OK.

I never had much issues with it. Only when approaching some NPCs the FPS crashes down to 10 or so.

Cutscenes are really getting out of hand in the second half, including several shoot-out scenes. Just so weird to "play" an FPS but have the protag kill enemy mobs in cutscenes.

GSC hired a movie director Ilya Naischuller (the guy who did 'Hardcore Henry' and 'Nobody') to direct cutscenes. That's why they are so long, movie-like, and have a lot of over-the-top action.

None of the cutscenes seem to be skippable, at least for 1.12 which I've played. They probably did this to prevent bugs but it still sucks.

1. "GSC announced that they plan to update the original three STALKER games by patching-in the console version improvements. There's a high chance that the new versions are going to be worse than the old ones, and that the old versions are gonna get delisted. "

"Improvements". I see.

2. Movie like cutscenes are okay if they're good. The problem is that characters are waaay too serious and keep saying the protagonist's name over and over...

"Skif...don't you understand?! Snickers is better than Twix. You must understand this, Skif... Skif, in the zone, you can choose between Snickers and Twix. I know you will choose wisely, Skif."

I mentioned it before, but half the ppl playing FPS these days can't aim at all.

They clearly miss, then get angry, then rage uninstall the game live on stream... This is the new version of ragequit courtesy of Steam...

First patch in 2025, and that's the entire list of fixes.

Fixed crashes and freeze on shaders compilation
Fixed memory leak occurred at Rostok location
Fixed performance degradation when shooting/aiming on saves with long playtime
Implemented fixes, that should solve the problem causing saves to be lost on Xbox
Fixed a random crash related to UI animations.

Do you know if they will "update" the ones on Steam only or if it will be on every other platform too? I believe I have the disks for at least one of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, but would love to know if I should get them while I can before the "new version" will be the only one available.
