I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come across as ******** on you or Fanatical. I thought Fanatical was maybe a rebranding of Sinister Design, I didn't click the link to see it was a build-a-bundle site. My bad.1998 wrote: ↑ December 31st, 2024, 17:09Never played it, just remembered it was moderately popular on codex
Oh right, it's just marketing bros!I'm glad you like the look of the new engine! That article isn't a mission statement, though: as the first paragraph of the article states, it's just a list of angles the media can use to cover the game, written as part of a big marketing push. Given the media environment of the time, I thought some publications would take a stab at covering the game on political grounds. (Like literally, I wrote: "There are a number of critics out there doing really interesting work exploring the politics of video games....I would be delighted to see some of them critique Telepath Tactics.") This...did not work. Turns out, that crowd is mostly just interested in finding things to hate and dogpiling them.
Speaking of which: are we all done with the political purity tests? Can I go back to talking about TiB now?
Oh that one is good. Used to play it on xbox but had no friends and as much as I liked doing ze funny german accent and saying *********** to people while reviving and healing them, friends tend to make it funnier.

From here https://www.neogaf.com/threads/playtoni ... e.1354840/UK developer Playtonic has removed the controversial YouTuber JonTron from its upcoming title Yooka-Laylee.
JonTron - real name Jon Jafari - has found himself in the news in recent weeks following a series of far-right views about immigration, ethnicity and nationalism.
JonTron was doing voice acting for the game, for those who didn't know.
"We recently became aware of comments made by voice artist JonTron after development on Yooka-Laylee had been completed," the firm told GamesIndustry.biz in a statement.
"JonTron is a talented video presenter who we were initially, two years ago, happy to include as a voice contributor in our game. However, in light of his recent personal viewpoints we have made the decision to remove JonTron's inclusion in the game via a forthcoming content update. We would like to make absolutely clear that we do not endorse or support JonTron's personal viewpoints and that, as an external fan contributor, he does not represent Playtonic in any capacity. Playtonic is a studio that celebrates diversity in all forms and strives to make games that everyone can enjoy. As such, we deeply regret any implied association that could make players feel anything but 100% comfortable in our game worlds, or distract from the incredible goodwill and love shown by our fans and Kickstarter backers."
But wait. JonTron and Yooka-Laylee are not related to Hell Let Loose. The only thing that is, is the Publisher Team-17DagothGeas5 wrote: ↑ January 2nd, 2025, 22:57About Hell Let Loose, Furin had a warning for this game on Steam, and I found this about it to add some context to what he says on Steam

Where did you get that quote from? I didn't write it.
Hell Let Loose is recommended on the list and Yooka-Laylee doesn't even have an entry.
More importantly, what does any of this have to do with Hell Let Loose?

When multiple Steam curators you follow have reviews for a game, only one is shown on that game's Store page (I'm not sure how Steam determines which to show). The others will simply be represented off to the left with the rating represented in the bottom right of each curator's icon (you can see the blue thumbs up in the bottom right corner of my curator's icon). To see all of them you have to hit View all.

1998 beat me to it, but yes it is called "Anti-Defamation League". They do a lot of work, but they have a problem (in my opinion at least) that they say "Not Recommended" to every game that links to a certain umbrella, and though it is useful to see the rot in the center, it leads me to make mistakes like the one above where I believe they are talking about the game they are reviewing, but instead is a completely different thing. If anyone knows if there is some way to set a "default curator" or some such, do let me know. I'd rather see what Furin has found front and center, and only after look up more if I wish to by this other team's reviews.MC_Sea wrote: ↑ January 3rd, 2025, 02:22Can you please tell me which Steam Curator is the yellow one with the snake on it? Although, he is correct about Team 17 being woke publisher. People should be very wary about the games they buy from them. They retroactively removed flags and phrases from their Worms franchise games because they were "politically incorrect". They also have a tendency to pressure their devs to include DEI **** in their games.
Then again, that's obvious given their CEO looks like this...

I found the crying about Valve on their own platform to be amusing, they have no obligation to even allow you to be there yet they've been by far the most accommodating of any gaming platform.
