This makes me think that they are already preparing a giga-sized copium excuse to explain why this game will be a total flop, if they don't believe that allowing piracy will help create the illusion that many people want to play this game.

Marc-Alexis Côté: "Half of Shadows dev team have never built a game before

Speaking during an XDS24 Fireside Keynote, Côté shared details on the team's current makeup and the development of Assassin's Creed Shadows, "We have a lot of juniors in our team. The seniority has lowered. Probably half the team that’s building Assassin’s Creed is building a game for the first time." While Côté never outright states that this has caused issues with the development of Assassin's Creed Shadows, he shares that it has meant that internal perceptions of the game have been skewed. "You have to explain to them that even though they're playing the game right now, and they think it's the worst thing they've ever seen, it's gonna be good. We're gonna get there." It's been a troubled development cycle for Assassin's Creed Shadows. Despite "very strong" pre-orders, backlash from a vocal incel minority about the game's protagonists has persisted, causing members of the development team to speak out. The release of Star Wars Outlaws didn't help Shadows' fate either, with the game's poor reception meaning the latest Assassin's Creed title was delayed just two months before it was due to launch.

A “small minority of incels” are complaining… so they have to delay the launch to cater to them? And other games did not do well because of them? The doublethink happening here is incredible.

I've said it before but creating a story about a real person who did exist and casually making him a gay ****** who sucks and fucks men is insanity levels of disrespectful to the point where even I'm offended on behalf of a random 500 year old African guy

I'd have been willing to play this as a black samurai if it was played completely straight afro samurai style rather than attempting to hide behind "muh history"
Play as Oda NobuNIGGA doing hood **** in 16th century Japan.

Did you come up with that yourself? I got a mighty chuckle out of that
And yes, if this came out 10 years ago as you describe, I'd actually play that.

Libtards trying to get people to buy games with black protagonists:
make them gay and lame, insult the native culture while doing it, add girlbosses everywhere
