The 'correct' ending that fits with the actual canon is Ciri goes missing(note that it doesn't show that she died even if the wiki and whatever else says so.) The problem is that cdpr required you to pick a bunch of things that Geralt wouldn't have done to get this ending. The only way this could be reconciled is if Geralt was purposely behaving this way to make sure she does not stay or come back for her own safety.

books are way worse than any of the actual Witcher games, btw. I assume they'll be better than 4, at least.
