So we have female witchers now? Ok, fine. Was ready for that, tis not surprising at all considering curent game industry.
But why the hell Ciri is now a witcher and not a powerful sorceress from the Lodge or not the ******* Queen eludes me.
The average CDPR 'sequel', everything from Witcher 1 & 2 was disregarded in Witcher 3.I don’t know why they got a pass for this. At least BioWare got scorched for same ****, but that was probably because DA4 was already garbage to begin with, unlike Witcher 3, so it was just another dunking point. Also, probably far fewer people played the first Witcher compared to Dragon Age Origins.
Like how they made up the excuse that Geralt never mentioning his son was because just thinking about him was too hurtful for him , or how you can end up with Triss in the second game, and it gets completely ignored in Witcher 3.
Holy crap the ending is cringe. I hate this, women can't be ******* witchers, and even if she were a man she'd be to **** old anyway. And I'm also sick and tired of female-maincharacterization
Worst thing is that people even vaguely on "our" side have been so subverted and propagandized that they don't notice how this is woke garbage and are cooming themselves over it

That trailer was slop perfected. All the worst trends of modern "writing":
Girlboss
'Gods' being monsters
******** superstitious peasants
Evil whitey man
Character that has to feign being beaten before magically over coming the bad thing
Ugly woman
Reusing old stories (Geralt and the lynching)
Blood and Wine already had a perfect ending for Geralt and the player. You can safely ignore any and all other ******** after that as non-canon.
I know a lot of normalfags are going to be annoying about it by eating all this slop, but we can rest easy. The tide is turning and even they are getting tired of this girlboss ********.
Witcher 4 is not going to flop like Failhard, but it's not going to be as successful as Witcher 3. CDPR is not the same studio that made the first three games and their reputation has been damaged heavily by the botched CP77 release. Even the anime and the 2.0 update haven't managed to get them back to their peak.
I read the books.
They can be. The original cohort was roughly evenly split.
They just die in the mutation even more than men and so few (if any) of the originals survived, so it became a boy's club early on.
They never bother with girls, because why bother if 99/100 just die?

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

I don't remember that being the case, then again it's been ages since I read the books, so you might be right. But that still means that my statement is basically correct, 1 percent is completely negligable.
This would also show how Sapkowski has always been a progressive ******, as it would make zero sense in that world to begin with an "original cohort" of males *and* females.

The whole thing with the Witchers is that they were a necessary evil (putting children through deadly training and mutations) in the world that was full of monsters. But in the books more and more of the world is being settled and the technology actually progresses, making the world much safer. Witchers are getting outdated and it's not a bad thing. It's like the world moving on and rebuilding in Fallout 2 or New Vegas. Except it looks like CDPR is pulling a Bethesda and only their only concern is in keeping the superficial aesthetics of the games and iconic imagery, instead of actually doing a smart thing and developing the world further. I fear the Witcher order is going to become Bethesda's Brotherhood of Steel.

Yeah, it's basically the same logic as with the Space Marines. Only the toughest survive the process and, since women are physically weaker than men, it'd only be a waste of time and resources to try using "lower quality stock" so to speak.

The first cohort were all experiments by a small group of mages (that had zero morals and were pretty much sociopaths) and I guess they didn't know if there would be a difference between the sexes so they used both.
Virtually all of the girls tested died. Or maybe it was all of them. I can't remember for sure.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I've never been able to enjoy Witcher 3.
I bought the Goty edition in 2017 and I've played about 12 hours total since then.
Every year I try to get into it and it never clicks.
In over 7 years, I've barely finished the starting area.
I liked the first game quite well.
I had a lot of trouble getting into the second game, but managed, eventually.
I just can't with the third, not sure why.
I wish they would've done a prequel game (I even had one in my head that would've been my dream game.)
I wrote everything down and let ChatGPT redo it to be more coherent and better worded.
1. Setting
- The game takes place at the height of the Witcher era, during the early years when Witchers started to establish themselves as necessary monster hunters.
- The world is teeming with danger, opportunity, and the rising demand for professional monster slayers.
2. Protagonist and Background Choices Protagonist Concept
- You play as a child either given to or taken by Witchers to undergo their harsh initiation process.
Background Options
- Players can choose cultural and personal backgrounds for their character, which influence minor or significant aspects of the game:
- Different cultures, family histories, or regions provide unique traits or perspectives.
Customization
- Name and background selection.
- Skin tones ranging from pale white to tan white.
- School-specific facial customization after school assignment.
3. The Initiation Process
- Players experience the character’s initiation into the Witchers, including the infamous experiments and trials.
- The process introduces:
- Key NPCs: Mages, witches, and other Witcher children undergoing initiation alongside you.
- Decision-Making: Player choices during this stage impact school assignment and relationships.
4. School Assignments and Their Impact
- The game features several Witcher schools (e.g., Bear, Wolf, Cat), each with unique philosophies, training methods, and trials.
- School assignment is influenced by the player’s early choices and playstyle:
- For example, aggressive and direct players might join the Bear School and face the Trial of the Mountain.
Characterization
- Assigned school affects the protagonist’s personality, voice, and customization options.
- Lone-wolf schools limit initial relationships but allow for later development.
5. Relationship Dynamics
- Players can form friendships or rivalries with other Witchers, even if their school typically discourages camaraderie.
- Non-Witcher relationships include:
- A mage or witch friend.
- One non-magical ally outside the Witcher community.
- Friendships and rivalries influence:
- Collaboration or competition on contracts.
- Sharing or withholding crucial information.
6. Gameplay and Story Progression Early Gameplay Focus
- Immersing players in the life of a Witcher through initiation, school trials, and early contracts.
Social Interactions
- Rivalry or alliances with other Witchers during contracts.
- Choices to cooperate or compete on monster-hunting missions.
Main Story
- The overarching plot unfolds gradually, with the initial focus on grounding players in the Witcher lifestyle before revealing deeper storylines.

Would honestly at least give it a try, though playing as a child is not something I like.
Also, just noticed the image upload thing is missing, thought it was only missing for private messages, did something happen to it? Was HQ banned from the service for being too normal for yet another mind-rotted service?
When Ciri said "there are no Gods here, only monsters" I cried.
Ah CDPR, you've done it again! Magnificent!
On a serious note, how ******** is it, that your main character, for a game called "The Witcher", isn't even a ******* witcher.
(Edit) - CDPR has pointed out that Ciri has gone through the Trial of the Grasses and has become a proper witcher.
She was already a magical fighter anyway... but having her pull off the deadly trial that usually only men survive... offscreen... is definitely (((their))) way to drive Le Strong Woman point home.
That being said, as someone who places more stock in writing than gameplay, I highly enjoyed Witcher 3 and, despite all the alphabet agenda injected in it, CP2077 as well.
This trailer was not a good sign, and I will remain cautiously optimistic over this, but I still expect it to be on par with those two.

Nah, the image host was being very unreliable and fiddly. Uploading to RPGHQ's Vault is a much better solution, even though it takes a couple more clicks.

Can I just say this, as a foid? I am getting really ******* sick and tired of female protagonists. I now have female protagonist fatigue. These female characters that these feminists and soyboy devs make are ******* awful and wretched. I can't say that these female characters are women. They are just the ideal version of what feminists think a woman should be which is just a man in a woman's skinsuit. I have now found myself playing as male characters more and more in video games as I am just so fatigue from seeing so many awful female protagonists.
