Chained Echoes - DLC out 2025

Post by 1998 »

Game is great, and the DLC looks like its reasonable substantial. New areas, 40 new enemies, 1 new PC etc.

My Reviews
Somnus [Not Recommended]
New Arc Line [Early Access] [Informational]
Passageway of the Ancients [Not Recommended]
Beyond Galaxyland [Recommended]
Old School RPG [Informational]
SKALD: The Black Priory [Recommended]

Game was visually magnificent but I didn't enjoy the gameplay. Possible its complexity rolled out too slowly.

But overall I could overlook some of the few woke parts of the story. Apparently you lose all your money armor/weapons if you go in the dlc with an old save. All the shards you grinded are gone too. Only class signs and jewelry/consumables carry over and skyarmors. And you cant take a dlc save back in the base game I read. I am almost done with the dlc after 20 hours. Some very tough optional boss fights in there where I had to prepare a few hours with farming and the right characters/skills and passives. DlC is quite similar to the base game and balanced to death, you have only very few parts where you can even use sky armors. Some people might like the new crystal shard system for the gearslot bonis. I dont. Seems especially HP Drain doesnt exist anymore as an item shard. Which enabled pretty funny builds with counter attack in combination, especially good against bosses which can act 2-3 times at a turn. Only 2 characters still have HP Drain as a class passiv and one of the two sucks. Also no rewards really for doing these optional bosses except a little gold from the quest board. Also you cant access the legendary smith unless you defeated the last boss... which is needed to upgrade the best in slot weapons to max for the third shard slot.... Also there are very ridiculous overpowered none boss enemies which come in packs of 4-6 sometimes which all have ae nukes or 1 can 1shot every character and you cant kill them in 1 round.

tldr for the dlc:

Some very limiting design choices for people who enjoy min/maxing in these rpgs. Base game with the old shard system was way more flexible there and you could farm perfect shards for hours. Also no fun at all that you cant take your progress into the base game.
