I find it oddly amusing how the people behind modern media never seem to get tired of using nazis as the antagonists in everything they do.
Back when all "hero shooters" were doing it was already starting to get old, and now they're just another generic slop enemy like zombies or stuff like that.
Wonder why they simply don't use communists as the antagonists for a change, seeing how there has been like a dozen communist regimes throughout history all over the world, in contrast to the single nazi regime in a single country that came and went.
That above was a joke question, cuz we all know why the current establishment is so against showing communism under a negative light. lol
it would make sense to use commies as the bad guys, but that would require the devs to set the game either in 1910-20s (when Indy was too young) or 1950-70s (that would make Indy too old).
A better option would be to pit Indy against the various brown savages, like Temple of Doom did.

He fought commies in the "Crystal skull" though, that did not make the film any better of course.
Resident Anti-feminist MRA, Race-mixer and no I'm not woke and not gay. Married with children, My writing style is shit, live with it or ignore me.
Indiana Jones is a judische revenge-fantasy at its core and until it is stripped of that core, it will forever be boring. Jorge tried to move it from its origin with Temple of Doom and even Crystal Skull, but didn't quite manage to find the right tone. Although Temple of Doom is by far the best attempt at moving Indy away from punching Nazis.
The average fan for this has to be in his 40s or 50s by now, right?
Nah, I love Indiana Jones and I haven't hit the 40's, I would think it's 30s to 40s
Euros are likely on a bit of a culture delay. I was 5 when the Last Crusade came out and I thought it was okay, but never overly-enthused about Jones, my peers seemed to be the same way (Star Wars by contrast was timeless). It's a series that hit hardest with American Gen Xers, that's why Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the Uncharted games were as big as they were, they released at the right time to ride the nostalgia wave.

George did try that in Crystal Skull, so he may have done, but he's still a Freemason. I think at best they'd make the antagonists Stalinist (**** don't like Stalin because of his hostility towards Trotskyites), and they'd make the communists look like Nazis in subtle ways, instead of people that sucked up to nignogs (Stalin's favourite movie was about an American coalburner).
But obviously modern Lucasfilms has new ownership now, they want to remind people of the Pavlovian associations that **** across the entertainment industry have already built up around about the greatest evil in the whole world: Nazis.

The original did have Nazis, which was for the same reason as I stated above. They're not going to move on from that to Communists or some other group without it being related back to Nazis in some way.
If I remember correctly, this game's creators even spoke about how they need to remind people about Nazis or some ****.

The WW2/nazi obsession is going to end up killing a part of the entertainment industry because, as far as I can tell, much of the younger generation(s) don't seem to give much of a **** about it at all.
I checked out on anything WW2 related years ago and they're still flooding the market with it.

I think there are a lot of guys who are sick of it, much like how they're sick of LGBT and other woke ****, they now understand how "Nazis" are just an exaggerated symbol to represent the villainy of "Whiteness," and then there are normies who've deleted what little IQ points they had with alcohol & drugs, so they just know nazi = bad, but don't really care, don't know any details-- aside from that, the ones that still do like it, likely feel stronger about it now, and it's Conservatives as well as Leftists.
