I see how it heavily favours stealth like some others already said, however now that I got the EMP-on-weapons biochip, beating those piece of **** bots back to the scrapyard is pretty satisfying.

If there one thing I dislike a lot in IW it’s the universal ammo system . It really limits how much you can use different weapons and forces you to do stealth for the most optimal experience.

I didn't pay much attention to it in the beginning, then I ran out of what I thought was only shotgun ammo. Had to replay a bit to save some.

I was so disappointed by it. When I first got it, I thought "Jackpot! Now I can do quick non-lethal takedowns." But it was faster to just beat the enemies into unconsciousness with the plastic nightstick you get at the very start.

Turns out you can climb ledges. Hold down the Spacebar and Alex will mount a ledge which lets you get into a lot of high places and find secrets.

I upgraded melee first and then got the EMP upgrade, you can easily kill enemies and robots in melee this way. Still haven't continued so It's still the end of seattle but neither the crowbar nor the police baton uses ammo, the sword uses your battery.

But with this, so far it seems, you can easily balance out any needs for ammunition.

This boltcaster is as stealthy as the crossbow with tranqdarts was in the first game. They enemies just start running around panicking. It's very surprising how easy it is to just sneak up and cave somebody's skull in instead.

Also, is there a good lightweight program for taking screenshots? I praised ReShade for this exact function, but turns out this game is too old for it and requires jumping through hoops. I installed all the required ****, but them the game just wouldn't load past the intro movies and would just crash to desktop.
Pressing PrintScreen and then Alt+Tabbing to Paint every time I want to take a screenshot is a huge pain in the ***.

If you don't need a lot of screenshots, PrtScn -> Alt+Tab -> Paste works as well.

Vault has integration with ShareX, grab the config from the sidebar. It's windows only so I don't use it tho, but @WhiteShark does I think.

Not sure about the pilot. But the Omar sells an SMG, a black bio-canister and something else. You can get a 50% discount AND a free black canister if you scan a grey alien in the nightclub basement.

I'm close to dropping it for this exact reason too. The levels are just too tiny.
Might just play through Alpha Protocol instead.

In what you might call a fit of rage, I deleted the game along with all the save files.
I've reinstalled it now and will just rush through it without doing any side missions or anything else. Just the main missions and that's it.

With level 3 speed enhancement this will take you 15 minutes plus loading screen time.

A lot of the biomods are somewhat lackluster. I guess this is one way of dealing with the problem caused by them being mutually exclusive. The only choice that I find particularly difficult is the arm slot (Strength, Bot Domination). Maybe because both of those options (throwing heavy objects and bot mayhem) are fun to perform rather than resource conversion/efficiency.

EDIT: Props, however, to them allowing the player to upgrade one biomod to level 3 at the start of the game or spreading them out to different mods. This is an interesting choice and makes attempts at replaying the start of the game more distinct.
