What game are you playing?
Finished Psycho Dream, a weird intended-for-adults Super Famicom platformer. Starts off and ends with credits like a movie. I played a dominatrix with a whip who powers-up into an insect fairy (though you can also be a sword-wielding guy). Enemies include loads of bugs, alien fetuses, and giant sea bugs (shrimp). The final boss's theme is Ave Maria. It was pretty easy, so I liked it, though it would have been a rip-off for a person to beat this thing within an hour or so back in 1992. Not surprised it got bad scores back then.
Been playing around with 7 Days to Die with Triple Screen.
Really pulls you in with this setup.
This is a rough idea of how it looks to me with the screen splits. I know it may look distracting initially, but it really does work well and after using it a bit, it doesn't distract at all, even feels right.
This is also a complete curve setup too, so it wraps nicely to around 6ft of curve, hits the peripherals just right (you can see everything easily in terms of the world without turning the head, interface needs to be center screen to work right though, which means jumping through some hoops depending on the game).

Very cool. Last year I bought an ultrawide and love it. The extra peripheral really is nice to pull you into the game world (I think the first game I played on it was Days Gone; Average game improved greatly by the ultrawide).Xenich wrote: ↑ November 27th, 2024, 02:09Been playing around with 7 Days to Die with Triple Screen.

Been playing Homos of Mighty Maggots 3 and having a gud time. Going to breeze through the OG Campaign and expansions before moving onto the ten million different slav versions of the Forge. I never actually played though The Shadow of Death.
Yeah, I loaded that up, it is great in the wider screens. I had the 49 inch curve before this and it was great, but it created issues with playing some games that honestly require a smaller resolution and the headaches of using utilities to push it to the center screen was a real pain. I was concerned about the triple setup, but it turned out really well.Breathe wrote: ↑ November 27th, 2024, 02:40Very cool. Last year I bought an ultrawide and love it. Over all comparing it to the 49 inch I had, I would say this has less headaches, but... there was one benefit it had over this setup. The width of the 49 inch in terms of the UI was still acceptable when it stretched to the outside corners of the screen. With this setup, if you can't get the UI to center, it is better to play it in the center monitor as it isn't practical to turn the head to look at the detailed data.
Usually, it isn't too bad... but there are several games where you just can't fix the UI to make it playable.
Also, I find most Strategy games to be better on the 49 inch compared to this setup, so I mostly play those center screen.
That aside, I prefer this setup due to the ease of solving these problems with the option to simply use the center.
I also just recently got one. I was surprised how quickly I was getting used to, after a few hours it felt like I was playing on ultrawide for years and the initial hype was gone. Still awesome of course...Breathe wrote: ↑ November 27th, 2024, 02:40Very cool. Last year I bought an ultrawide and love it. Feels like it would be better to just use a VR headset as a display if you wanted that?
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Nah, VR sucks ***. It is more of a gimmick, tires the eyes, and you have a stupid thing sitting over your face the entire time that gets irritable making it a very narrowed use and experience.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ November 27th, 2024, 04:26Feels like it would be better to just use a VR headset as a display if you wanted that?
This setup gives a nice balance for many different applications and is more comfortable to get used to. For most people, a single ultrawide screen would be sufficient (barring the various headaches I mentioned). The triple screen just gives the best of both worlds in that balance I think.
I've never played a visual novel but I had some free time so I started the first Ace Attorney. I'm only on the 3rd trial but they allow witnesses you're cross-examining to change their story multiple times so you have to keep finding new ways to shut them down. Interesting and pretty relaxing so far.
I don't have much free time and when I do I usually play guitar instead. The ability to save at any point is great when I only have a few mins at a time.

If you're looking for more, I played this a couple years back and really enjoyed it. Very good writing/worldbuilding, lost a bunch of time without realizing it.

I really liked the setting, but if that doesn't click with you I guess you probably wouldn't like itmaidenhaver wrote: ↑ November 27th, 2024, 17:56Tried Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, but its boring, so I uninstalled it. Its like an entire game of character generation.

Id recommend trying Bellwright. With the latest update they changed the game's poster. It now has 3 white people on it, 2 men and 1 women. One man is a knight, another is some sort of lumberjack and a woman is wearing a straw hat.
But seriously. I played it on release, its still quite grindy and requires micromanagement but its better now than it used to be.

I'm playing Spellforce 3 right now, will probably play the first one after since I never actually finished it.

Played the hell out of POE but hadn't heard of Path of Achra. Looks cool. Is there great leeway in making different builds?

Normal gendered CC...rare.

Just finished this myself.
Finished Dark Forces, Dark Forces 2, Jedi Outcast, and Jedi Academy over the last week or two. What a black. Academy felt rushed in some aspects but most of the game being lightsaber fights was a wise decision. Enabled realistic saber settings so any fight could go either way with a single swing and it was so much fun. As I'm writing this I just remembered that Movie Duels mod is supposed to be solid so I guess I'm downloading that now.
Looking like this while Qui-Gon keeps playing a clip from the movie where he says "I'm Qui-Gon Jin" constantly is shockingly kino.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ December 1st, 2024, 01:36Finished Dark Forces, Dark Forces 2, Jedi Outcast, and Jedi Academy over the last week or two.
