Is it just me or are the available companions getting worse and worse with every new year of games.
I looked at both sets of the Pillars of Eternity games companions, and most of those weirdos and freaks I don't want anywhere near my party.
Along with some other games where the companions repulsed me: Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous. I could only find one or two acceptable companions in each.

I never used to have this problem.
I haven't changed, either. My aesthetic sense is the same as always.

I'm regularly in contact with PR teams for game keys, I've talked with an actual developer maybe once or twice. And these are studios (mostly) nowhere near the size of Microsoft studios.
Publishers have entire departments dedicated to handling this stuff. If anything, marketing is going to see that and freak out because of the reach someone like Elon has.

Either this guy's flagrantly breaking the rules and will get punished (an Obsidian dev posted on another forum about Avowed and I heard claims that Obsidian was so mad about it that they fired an employee they thought was the culprit) or they're 100% okay with this.

The reason they stated, to avoid spoilers. It makes no sense to put a wall up on character creation just so people won't see the cringenouns while also letting people see the character screen itself where the cringenouns are right there in plain sight.

The guy I watched who did a preview said he didn't know why they didn't let him record it, which would imply he did the character creation and there wasn't any spoilers.

I admit that I do prefer the Kingmaker companions over the WotR companions in general, but you are right, only relatively few of those companions are characters I genuinely liked.

What also confuses me the most is that somehow you can have Lawful Good companions be totally chill and even make camp with Chaotic Evil companions now, with the most "conflict" among them being the occasional mean banter and that's it. lol

Never played it and never even checked it (can not play first-person-view games). Guess it let me keep my good memories about Obsidian a bit longer.

Why does this guy not realise, most people love BG3 and don't mention woke as much because they never actually played Act 3. 10% of players actually played Act 3. The rave reviews come from Act 1 and 2 (except Aylin). Because those two Acts were genuinely good.

Why does this guy not realise, most people love BG3 and don't mention woke as much because they never actually played Act 3. 10% of players actually played Act 3. The rave reviews come from Act 1 and 2 (except Aylin). Because those two Acts were genuinely good.

That will probably be the new woke ''modus operandi'' now that they are aware of the possible backlash of going so blatant with the ''message''. They will hide everything as much as possible and give the ''netflix'' treatment for these games: first few hours are ok then you get blasted with wokeness.
