No, but they're now associated with pedophile leftists sharing child pornography on that leftist bubble platform.

free SmashJT article (abridged) wrote:
A wild new rumored leak from an insider to the FandomPulse exposes Ubisoft’s 'dissatisfaction' with Valve and Steam for displaying concurrent player counts on its platform.

"Ubisoft and other companies want to pressure Steam to stop the tracker from giving out info they want to keep to themselves"

"They want to be able to present findings to investors so they can make it sound good"

The insider alleged that their efforts here are tied to the... underwhelming (to be kind) sales figures, with Star Wars Outlaws reportedly failing to reach 2 million copies sold—a massive shortfall given Ubisoft’s own admission that AAA games require significant sales to recoup costs.

During a recent interview at XDS24, Ubisoft's Assassin’s Creed Executive Producer Marc-Alexis Côté revealed that the break-even point for many AAA titles falls between 8 to 12 million units.

“The reason I’m quoting the 10 million copies kind of mark is from what I’ve seen and how I’ve seen costs, our costs, and costs of competitors... Everything leaks in our industry, so you have privileged information on where the competition is going. But mostly I estimate that 10 million copies, give or take 2 million, is mostly what you need to break even. But you have only 10 games that breach that every year.”

I think it can be neat if they dissolve into particles and the game has that magical feel to its setting, like FF10.

One of the few times I'll praise fallout 4 but I remember clearing an outpost so I could settle it and there being dead bodies all over due to the fight. I went around collecting them and dragging them into the nearby river that drained into the ocean where they just floated away.

That probably happened because gamebryo treats bodies as containers, and bethesda's programmers were too incompetent to properly despawn body-containers due to them being not-empty. Fo4 does despawn bodies, but only if the engine resets the entire area (i.e. like with Corvega car plant).

This shouldn't be surprising to anyone but for some reason a lot of people think selling a couple million is actually really good for these titles. They have no concept of how much these games cost to make with their near decade long development cycles.

And by "8 to 12 million units", he means full priced ones, not units being sold 5 years later for $4.99.

We call those happy accidents, and it ended up being a cool immersive feature whereby I could use the game world thru a combination of game mechanics working together to dispose of bodies.

People still living in the late-00s/early-10s when 2 million was the break-even point.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/olliebarde ... reak-even/ - Breath of the Wild looks slightly better than a 2000s-era xbox game graphically and has fewer than 2 hours of cinematics/voice-over

So it would seem (but not confirmed) that Ubislop want to stop Steam tracking/showing player counts. I wonder why...

They want to be able to better lie to their investors and create the illusion that their woke slop is successful.

Funniest thing is that apparently Ubishit previously left Steam and went to EPIC, but they hated EPIC so much that they came back crawling to Steam, and now they're demanding Steam to change their platform. lol

Corporate scum are corporate scum. Don't forget their ****** launcher they force you to use.

If true, I hope Steam tell them to **** themselves. Ask EA how well running your own platform will be.

How? I still remember playing fishing RPG, legend of river king, on emulator years ago but I don't think such games are still being produced. I honestly haven't seen any fishing game that's not a low quality mobile-tier slop after the PS2 generation.

Every game from the last fifteen years has fishing in it, making them all fishing games.

I know there's a fairly popular fishing mmo on steam, Russian fishing 4. It got review bombed earlier this year due to server issues so ignore the mixed rating, was very positive prior.

They are all filler contents because lol modern AAA gaming and therefore ****. Better fishing games were made 2 decades ago and still haven't been surpassed
