Corporate cancer begins in the HR department. The HR department gets a couple of people who are lefty, and then they hire their friends who think like them (rather than finding the best candidate). During the hiring process, the interviewers ask political questions, and then filter out people who don't align with their beliefs. The board of directors can't oversee everything. They have to delegate tasks and hope that the chain is made up of normal, sane people.
They have no concept of business, work ethic, motivation, etc...
HR in one business I know decided to implement a "point" system for their workers. Basically, everyone received a given number of points per month. The employees apparently are supposed to award points to other employees based on the help they they receive from that employee.
Keep in mind this is a type of business where all metrics on an employee's work is easily tracked (ie it is all digital work). Apparently, the managers are too stupid to look at the data to see who is doing work and who is not and HR in their brilliant wisdom think this system will properly reward the people who are most helpful and take on additional tasks.
It is like they are kids who have no clue how people act in reality. The concept of cliques, favoritism, and group abuse of this system never occurred to them.
The result? The employees who are all buddies hand trade off points constantly to pad their numbers and the ones who do all the work are ****** with no points even though they "actually" do all the work and because they think this is a viable and accurate system, the ones doing the work are actually getting pressed on because they don't have the numbers the lazy **** offs have even though like I said, all the metrics can be easily pulled up to see who is ******* off.
Naturally, HR is filled with ****, *******, and Fems.
Worthless, every ******* one of them.
