Badge page

Technically the limitation is height only, I've exploited this in a few cases.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ November 10th, 2024, 00:24It should be noted that, currently, badges are displayed at 22x22 regardless of the original image size.

Yea this looks soulless to me.Finarfin wrote: ↑ November 11th, 2024, 01:48btw, I thought it could've been cool to have each badge look similar in style to make it more uniform but I guess that would maybe make it soulless on the other hand.
basically something like this.
This is difficult to do at 22 pixels.J1M wrote: ↑ November 19th, 2024, 21:06The way to do this properly is to, as with most things in life, copy an offshoot of a military organization. Boy scouts!
Each image should have the following components:
-frame material: metal pin/merit badge/etc
-frame shape: circle/hexagon/triangle/etc
-frame coloration: background and border
-contents: iconic representation of the item
The problem with the current images is that there is no consistent frame choice and the contents have been selected to look good at a wide variety of image sizes.
Ideally, once frame material/shape/coloration has been selected for the Adventurer's Guild, perhaps with a different coloration for Junior Adventurer's Guild, distinct frames can be selected for the other categories of icons.
► More pins and badges

Looks great to meJ1M wrote: ↑ November 19th, 2024, 22:02@rusty_shackleford difficult, but not rocket science.

Nah, the AGs have basically just merged now. Just one color is fine. Other than making sure they're symmetrical as needed (the IWD corners look slightly unbalanced and maybe the VTM one is a pixel off?) I think they're perfect.J1M wrote: ↑ November 19th, 2024, 22:25@Oyster Sauce do you want the junior adventurer's guild badges differentiated with a different border color?
The sample above is basically:
-frame material: merit badge
-frame shape: rectangle (like a medal ribbon, but about half as wide)
-frame background: brown
-contents: flood the image so the icon background can help convey information
I can move the IWD icon over one pixel, but the KOTOR 2 one will look off in the other direction if I move it by one pixel. Basically an issue with odd/even number of pixels at this resolution. Options are to accept things offset by half a pixel, or to stretch the middle pixel column into two columns.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ November 19th, 2024, 22:39Nah, the AGs have basically just merged now. Whatever you think is best. We haven't played KOTOR 2 yet btw so you've gone above and beyond.J1M wrote: ↑ November 19th, 2024, 23:08I can move the IWD icon over one pixel, but the KOTOR 2 one will look off in the other direction if I move it by one pixel. It was a special, limited time badge that only one user received. I couldn't think of anything good for it and went with what it is based on what I was reading at the time(the letters are taken from OE Beowulf). If anyone has a better idea, go ahead and share it.J1M wrote: ↑ November 20th, 2024, 02:22Adventurer's Guild Adventuring Badge (TODO: what this is for?)
Only I have access to add/change the badges, so just ping me
