There is also the brain eater at the start of the game, "We are Us". Wtf is that? Is it one or is it many? The English language is too confusing nowadays. Imagine your spouse going on a business trip alone, arriving in the hotel room and calling you:" We have arrived, dear". "We? Who else is with you?" "No, it's just us" "???"

Also note: "We are us," is incorrect in all contexts, anyway. Technically, it should be, "We are we."Kain wrote: β November 7th, 2024, 22:14There is also the brain eater at the start of the game, "We are Us". Wtf is that? Is it one or is it many? On another issue, game keep crashing after I free Nightsong from the prison (I killed Isobel when we first meet). Anybody have the same problem? If I just kill him there will be no cutscreen and it won't crash btw.

1. BG1 and BG2 are 2 completely different games from another (better) time by another company.Kain wrote: β November 7th, 2024, 21:40"I" has always been used, then suddenly it's "we" even when you are traveling alone. And people refer to you as "they/them" even if you are alone and stand naked. I don't want to talk about politics, I just want comprehensible grammar.
2. The Intellect Devourer you meet at the beginning of the game is as others have pointed out supposed to speak in that way. It refers to itself as many, because it is really controlled by something else that controls many creatures; it really does not understand the concept of "individual" (at least not until much later in the game, in a way). Heck, it is meant to be completely alien as well, and this is how they chose to implement it. IMO it is quite fitting for such a creature as far as I know D&D (mostly 2e and 3.5).

I've got an issue, the game crashes in the Shadowfell after letting Shadowheart decide Aylin's fate and the Aylin flight cutscene starts.

Rough estimate... How close to "completing" this project? Obviously there are always things here and there to do, but in terms of coverage, where would you say you are at in terms of an extremely clean playthrough percentage wise?

I got past it by disabling the mods proceeding with the cutscene then reenabled them after, it's an issue with something related to that cutscene

Hey, i have a noob question. Since this is the only mod il be using, can i install this mod without a mod manager? Could someone give me a step by step where to drop the files n stuff? Im quite unfamiliar with modding. And also, will the game break after each hotfix? And i heard about the devs checking on if i use "offensive" mods, which is beyond ridiculous. Do they have the ability to just mess with my game somehow if i use mods they dont agree with? Thanks so much for any help!

I've been told by the bg3 modders that installing mods without a mod manager causes a lot of issues now

I disagree strongly with this on principle.orinEsque wrote: β November 7th, 2024, 17:49... just because its different from BG1 and 2 doesn't mean its wrong
But that doesn't mean that it has anything whatsoever to do with this mod, and I think it would be deranged for this mod to change something like that.
How the **** is this confusion to you? I genuinely don't understand. It's intentionally cryptic and hive-mind-y, because it's supposed to be representative of an alien intelligence for which individuality does not exist. There's nothing confusing whatsoever about this, and the fact that this is one of the few times in the game where this is actually done even remotely resembling well (I have bitched about this at length before) is a black mark on the game, not "confusing". So that parasite is counted as...another you? Would you address yourself as "we" because you have parasites living in your head or any other parts of your body? Would it do the thinking for you or with you? When you speak, is that your parasite speaking or you both speaking? Your line of thinking is just too alien and abnormal to me bth.orinEsque wrote: β November 12th, 2024, 03:22If you think about it, MC is no longer a single entity. MC has a tadpole in his head![]()
