The only data point you need is the one about how all of the DLC is cancelled. Including DLC that is 80% complete because work on that cancer doesn't start on launch day.
Interesting this seems to have been announced on either release day or the day after, from what I can tell searching. Lots of results were unsurprisingly deleted threads on the Steam forum. EA pulled the plug fast, I think faster than I remember they did on Andromeda which was going to have DLC too, then it was all cancelled after release the same way. They must really think this game is a disaster if they already forced the team to go work on Mass Effect instead.

Gamerant article that popped up in results said creative director also responded to talk of remaking DA:O and DA2 basically by saying it's two different old engines that are too hard for their team to figure out. Optimistic news if this game is already panned for a last shot on ME4, and a DA:O rerape is too challenging for their mentally challenged team to do. Bioware can't be finally put out of its misery fast enough.
DA2 is clearly the same engine as Origins. They had 18 months from greenlight to launch. You can safely disregard anything anyone says anywhere about "engines" in the gaming press.

The engine used by origins was just another iteration upon Aurora.

So... he genuinely played the game for 2 ******* hours and didn't realize its absolute dogshit? I don't know if that's any better than being a flipflopping fence sitter normie ******,
He's more of a normiecon who just doesn't like leftist politics in video games but tries to avoid being one of the anti-sjw grifters.

Has anyone here actually played this? How heavy is the agitprop in the first 2 hours?
As early as the character creation menu. But, I guess you forced my hand so now I have to break it down in autistic detail. TLDR at the bottom, of course.
► Show Spoiler
TLDR
Anyways, I am sure no one will read this ******* wall of text but I don't care. There is no defense for this. He is either a ****** normie flipflopper or a brain dead ****** that deserves nothing more than a mercy kill so he can stop draining the finite resources of this Earth.
I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate your 2 hour breakdown of this reviewer's poor taste and how he missed all this blatant wokeness that was in his face. I don't know how anyone has the power to stomach 2 hours of this, much less praise it. I'm just grateful I have enough brainpower not to be a normie who mindlessly consumes products simply because they are new.

Peak liberal writing at its finest. A woke loser with no real life experiences, who's never had a genuine friendship, relationship, or conversation with someone who's even remotely different than them, tries to pen a dialogue. The fact that these idiots are even allowed to create art shows how poor, unnatural and wrong their ideology really is. Wokies love to meddle in art and culture, but they have no talent, no skills, no tenacity and inquisitive minds, no deep understanding of any of these things. They have nothing to offer the people.

Yes, and I'm dyslexic (and French), so for me these fake words are a real nightmare. I've put an insane amount of time and effort to being able to write properly in French. And these freaks don't care if their stupid language harms us dyslexics. I even had one of them tell me that we were too much of a minority and therefore not important enough... The answer I was given was: “then you can spend another ten years learning our imaginary words, just so you don't hurt our feelings”.

I tell the truth when I say that I have met more people with dyslexia than queers, so if you are a "minority that doesn't matter" then surely the gay freaks are so little that they virtually don't exist. kek

Dislike the fact in Dragon age Veilguard you change your physical appearance, gender, race etc anytime in the game with no ingame explanation or story consequences. It’s completely immersion breaking and even worse that other RPG studios have been doing the same thing as well.
And here I was thinking that respeccing disguised as "retraining from the ground up" in-story was bad, but at least these games I know only change your class and never your physical appearance or alignment.

Both DA:O and DA2 used the Eclipse Engine, which succeded the Odyssey Engine (KOTOR I-II), born out of the Aurora Engine (Neverwinter). Inquisition used Frostbite 3.

I'm sure there's some difference between them but the excuse given is cope. If they were doing remasters anyways, they could probably just port DAO to DA2's engine revision to begin with, which would make it easier to work on both games simultaneously.
I'll concede to the point that nobody at bioware can figure out how to use the engines tho. :Inspector:

Well it's over: 89,418 all time.
Didn't even hit 100k.
Gamalytic says that it may be around ~560k sold.
So maybe 33.6 Million which isn't even close to covering the 150 million + budget. The studio is cooked.
Even if we are generous and give them 2 million copies sold that's still only 120 million.
Edit: I didn't even put in any platform fees or anything, I just did a rough calculation so I was extremely generous.

Who would've thought that the authors of those yaoi fanfics on Wattpad would be the ones in charge of writing the dialog for a high-budget, beloved game series? Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel! But hey, at least we'll all have a good laugh… if we can even make it through the game without cringing ourselves to death.

Platform fees + taxes, but there's also console sales. Very few if any will buy this on the xbawks, likely equal amount as PC on PS5. But PS5 probably(? I'd be surprised if not?) has higher platform fees.
Going to guess 1.5m total copies sold by the end of year, maybe 2m. Probably getting $35 or so on each copy after fees.

For comparison, DD2 hit 3 million sold not too long back with a much higher peak CCU(3x) + likely has a much longer tail than veilguard will be capable of.

Even less, unlike some other AAA games (Cyberpunk, Baldurs Gate...) this has regional pricing.

Considering how much effort would be required to port those engines to newer consoles, the remaster would probably end up being as much work as a proper remake. Might as well just keep using Frostbite (and leave the actual engine work to DICE devs)...if Veilguard hadn't killed the profitability of the franchise for the foreseeable future.

Man, how you actually mod this garbage into something decent? BG3 was pozzed, but it had redeemable qualities at least.
People won't do it. I think it would be better to mod a good game, such as The Elder Scrolls Morrowind or Skyrim, or Dragon Age: Origins itself, or a game like Baldur's Gate 3 which has a good mechanical base, into a worthy Dragon Age game at this point. Looks like the story, characterization, and theming is fundamentally broken and should be redone, and the gameplay system seems dumbed down into Hogwarts Legacy style action combat and unlike a real Dragon Age game, so that would likely need a Skyrim overhaul mod pack level of rework to make it like the golden era of Dragon Age.
