Really wish I didn't have to create a Nexus account to play DAO.

The fade was pretty short and simple. I have no idea why there's manufactured hysteria around it a la the water temple. It's just a solo dungeon where you get keys to open doors.

I didn't know anyone hated deep roads until years after I played it. Never could think of anything that stood out as particularly bad about it.

It is slightly longer than the other areas and focused on combat. My understanding is that if you go to the area clearly labelled as most dangerous ASAP the combat is a slog due to limited abilities at low level plus level scaling.

If done later it is more of an opportunity to try everything out that you have unlocked.

The writing and atmosphere in the first hours has me immediately hooked again, even though I played this game probably a dozen times through.
Watching a MauLer stream of Drag Age Fagguard in between, we really didn't know how good we had it in the olden days. :notsureif:

The first time I played DAO I really couldn't get into it at the start. I had to force myself to sit and take in the dialogue. Maybe that was a me thing though. I did enjoy the game overall.

Also, I don't see how you could find Mauler playing any game entertaining let alone Mauler playing ****** Simulator entertaining but each to their own.

The only area I can't stand is the Dalish elves, and it's solely because of how they look. I try to get the werewolf stuff done asap.

No. I don't use texture overhaul mods for any game on principle.

And? Neither do I. But you do you. Never understood watching any of these ****, like Heels, Mauler, Critical Grifter and such. They suck just as bad as the other side. Oh forgot about JosiahRises, ******* annoying guy (Insults people based on their looks yet looks like the alpha soyboy) They all got something in common, they are loud obnoxious ******* riding on the anti-DEI wave but are still ok with ******* if they would be just written ok and not in a DEI way.

I don't even mind them that much. At least their grifts serve a purpose. However, they are all so bad at video games and pretend they know a lot when they know very little.
Each of them need to stay in their lanes, Mauler:TV/Movies, HeelVsBabyface:comics/culture war nonsense, Critical Drinker:TV/Movies. They won't though because they make money off their simps by streaming themselves being **** at games. Fair play I guess.

I'll watch them if they actually do say or do something outside the realm of accepted critique. e.g., synthetic man coming out against miscegenation propaganda caused a big meltdown in so-called "right-wing" grifters

Deleted that mod instantly, way too fast (the one from that mod/fix whatever pack). That feels like some ******** speedrun nonsense. I actually think the default speed is OK.

The Leliana's Song DLC not matching her account of what happened is pretty dumb. She was in the booth, they could have rerecorded the one conversation she has about it in the main game.

I had forgotten just how ugly the clothing and armors in Origins actually were. Did anyone even bother doing research, or just Googling a few reference images on how people used to dress, or what plate armor looks like? It's not as bad as it could be, but it's more cartoony WoW than anything close to realistic, especially when compared to the Witcher games, which, while not al that accurate either, actually feel medieval (since they were using clothing items of the era, but with a more modern flair).

Also, I'm using a mod that puts non-2-handed melee weapons on the hips instead of the back, and it looks infinitely less ******** than what BioWare did (which I assume was done so they could recycle animations).

I used the mod because I didn't want NPCs and party members to resemble the average bog-dwelling UK village folk.
