Dragon Age™: The Veilguard is a Return To Form
This is new.
I'm wondering how people from other countries who are playing this game in non-English are able to handle the ****** translation nuances. I bet that's a real gas.
I still can't comprehend how frail those people and their beliefs are. They could made this game linear or gave you a "bad" choice and try to punish you for it somehow or reacted to it with counterarguments but they did not even do that. Only total compliance. Ideology that does not tolerate debates and conflicts is just weak and has no value. This game was made by cultists and parasites.Rand wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 17:27Apparently, criticize it.MrTwinkls wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 12:33Question for people who decided to suffer through this. Followed by not exclaiming love for its alphabetry.
Followed by not paying money for it.
In the game? They've deliberately disallowed "bad" choices. Your only allowed responses are simply what tone of full support you give the game writers and director's plot and ideology.
I would love to see a dialogue designed with an AI and the player types in their responses. The AI would be given a personality template and constrained to a directive that contains enough so it doesn't break the games progression, but overall would allow the AI to interact within that personality template completely. Give the AI a complete knowledge/vocabulary set based on the setting and world according to its character and let the player go nuts. You would waste hours just bantering with various NPCs.UltraFan123 wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 18:19At that point there's really 0 reason for a dialogue wheel or any multiple choice system at all since the player has no agency and it's basically just a linear-story game.Rand wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 17:27Apparently, criticize it.MrTwinkls wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 12:33Question for people who decided to suffer through this. I saw a German post about how the whole pronoun thing doesn't translate well due to the language and so the dialogue concerning it looks like a bunch of hacked in neo-language ****.Zothique wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 18:34I'm wondering how people from other countries who are playing this game in non-English are able to handle the ****** translation nuances. You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Not surprising, since lack of empathy for others is a core personality trait of leftist ideology, the "people" who made this game never even allowed themselves to consider even for a moment about how hard it would be for people that speaks other languages.Xenich wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 18:57I saw a German post about how the whole pronoun thing doesn't translate well due to the language and so the dialogue concerning it looks like a bunch of hacked in neo-language ****.Zothique wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 18:34I'm wondering how people from other countries who are playing this game in non-English are able to handle the ****** translation nuances. I feel people are sleeping on how the pegleg brown para-****** mage "woman" Neve sounds exactly like a male ****** attempting a female voice (with the help of an electronic pitch shifter on top) and still utterly failing.

A hundred million dollar project
There is no way this cost below $200m to make. That's the floor I'm willing to accept based on other EA projects we know the cost of.

Here is more details on that leak:
https://www.smashjt.com/post/exclusive- ... r-concerns
He further described BioWare as a corpse being worn by EA yes-men filled with cult-like pandering weirdos. It wasn't anything like he had signed on for years ago. He even shared a personal story about how he was called to HR to discuss a situation that a female coworker at the office complained about him and made her feel uncomfortable in order to ensure her job was safe and more importantly, hold him down below her, even though, according to him, he did nothing wrong at all. In a weird way, it could be described as a modern form of corporate slavery, and he has to obey the masters or face the punishment of being blackballed from the industry on the whole.
It was a female employee who was clearly, visibly, mentally unhinged and would claim anything to get ahead. Sounds like a real fun work environment they put together over there...
This insider noted that under this structure, BioWare’s latest release, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, served less like an immersive RPG experience... and more as a propaganda piece, aligning with the ideology of the company’s leadership. They didn't care to make the game fun he said. The rewrite after rewrite, changing hands of the script, redoing work he had done over and over again, each time, getting worse and worse from his perspective - but he put up with it, because he was already so in-deep with the project at that point. This game is, for all intents and purposes, genuine propaganda, on the same level as Dustborn. Which is crazy, because many folks thought that game was an aberration, but nope... it looks like its almost becoming a trend.
This is exactly like women (and severely mentally ill men pretending to be women).Xenich wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 19:23Here is more details on that leak:

Can confirm this. Translations in games have declined in quality generally in the last decade or so but this garbage is truly a new low.Rand wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 19:02The German one is especially egregious, apparently.Zothique wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 18:34I'm wondering how people from other countries who are playing this game in non-English are able to handle the ****** translation nuances. Sure. I just know its total cost is not $100m, which would be less than EA paid for Immortals of Aveum, a 15 hour long FPS.J1M wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 19:14Are you including the marketing budget? Perhaps it's the art style but a lot of people are treating this like a AA title rather than one of the more expensive video game projects ever released.

Yep, personally seen this happen. Also doesn't have to come to a point where they are in control. I have seen a single mentally ill walk into a work place and completely turn it upside down because everyone is afraid of a lawsuit.Rand wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 19:26This is exactly like women (and severely mentally ill men pretending to be women).Xenich wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 19:23Here is more details on that leak:

Nothing says smashing success when developers make no post DLC content and quickly move to a different project when the game had a 150 million budget.

I see a lot of people bring up "concord" as if it is a comparable factor for failure and since this game didn't flop like concord, well... it didn't do too bad...
Thing is...
Concord was an unknown IP that was a clone game. It flopped super hard because it had to stand on its own, nothing to boost it, just the product and this is exactly why these ****** go after established IPs. Their games flop (and movies) on their face when they push their crap on their own.
DA:V is a fail, just as bad as Concord in reality. It had the well known IP to work from (albeit with **** titles in the past) and something that at least most players had fond memories of. With that boost, this game should not have failed like it did. Its "success" is really just the natural amount of pickup you would get from it being an established IP. If this game were released as "Unknown RPG" without anything to bolster it, it would have flopped just like concord.
It is all blowing smoke up peoples ***. The game is dead... it failed HARD. There is no draw here, it is a fantastic flop.

It's Dustborn level of degeneracy. If you can't even romance a good looking character, what's the point? I know they will release mods to fix that, but the game is too pozzed.
I seriously doubt it will ever really get mods to fix it past ***** attention. I honestly don't think anyone here has the stomach to even attempt it and as it was already mentioned, the game on its face is pure console action trash garbage. It isn't like BG3 where there was something to obtain from the work. There really is no point in this one.RayoSombrio wrote: ↑ November 1st, 2024, 21:07It's Dustborn level of degeneracy.
