Going by precedent, yes. It's fine if you have started/finished the game recently.

Can't load any save in Ostagar, Origin story works, but Ostagar I always getting kicked out. Even replayed part of the Origin story to create a new save game there. Of course a **** tons of reports online, guess need to find the right one.

I just installed it straight through Steam, nothing else.

Has something to do with map size, if I load into a smaller map and from there to Ostagar it works.

Yes, that might be. The 4 GB patch should fix it for Ostagar, however. Note though that you should avoid saving in Denerim City Market District. That area is notoriously buggy/has a memory leak.
On a newer system it is strongly recommended to install the 4 GB patch.
And yes - if you load another save first, and then the save you really want, it generally works. But it might not do so in Denerim.

FULLY INSTALLED AND ERECT! READY TO KILL SOME ELV.....DARKSPAWN!

Here is a modern mod list for gamers

https://gamestegy.com/post/dragon-age-o ... ao-modlist

I'm using most of the mods included in this list, as well as the Extra dog slot mod, and Dragon Age Redesign. The dog slot mod does what it says, the redesign replaces most of the ******* in the game with realistic models

Works, nice. Thanks

Here is a link to the already patched .exe in case anyone else needs it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... =233222451

For some reason when I tried to patch it myself it wasn't working.

IMO, Qwinn, Dain and DLC fixes are necessary. And it's nice to have a long skillbar on a big screen, so yes, I recommend that as well. Extra dog slot, but do mind it might mess one quest near the end a bit - recommend to turn it off to avoid this before starting that particular quest. And: remember to talk to the dog and ask him to fetch stuff for you. Often. :-)
Tactics is also nice, as is Shapeshifter plus, which makes the Shapeshifter mage specialty quite nice (though not very powerful compared to blood mage anyway).
And get the Silverite mine fix for DA:A.

Can you spoiler the quest specifically for me? And how does it mess it up?

If you let yourself be taken prisoner (why would you??) and have your friends try to rescue you, the game seems to fail to recognize that the new main character for a time isn't you... Or some such.

@fkirenicus What is this about an attack speed bug I keep reading about and which fixpack/mod fixes this problem?
