So I can confidently say that every romancible companion is better when you have 100% Rivalry with them.

Why?

You gain Friend points when you agree and reinforce your companions' points of view on something. But when you gain Rivalry points, you influence them to change their ways. And all the companions are either batshit insane or degenerate.

• Anders at 100% Friendship is absolutely sure of his plan to 9/11 the Kirkwall Chantry to stick it to the Templars. At 100% Rivalry, he's a victim of possession too tormented and physically exhausted to resist a demon that's puppeteering his body. He tries to stop it, but fails.

• Merrill is a ******** blood mage who tries to restore a tainted magic mirror that already caused two deaths of her clansmen. At 100% Friendship, her blood magic ritual causes the death of her clan. At 100% Rivalry, you rightly call out her retardation and stop it.

• Isabela is a ***** of massive proportions. At 100% Friendship, you let her continue sleep around and drink and steal. At 100% Rivalry, she agrees to settle down and stops slutting around, albeit reluctantly.

• Fenris is an escaped slave with a raging hateboner for mages and magic. While that does sound extremely based, his 100% Friendship romance is just boring. His 100% Rivalry is "I wish I knew how to quit you, mageHawke-sama" kino.

• Fifth romancible companion is from a DLC and he's the only straight one of them. He's a balding Oirishman who used to manwhore around but is a hardcore no-sex-before-marriage tradCatholic by the time you meet him. Honestly, his story is pretty good - an exiled prince (the name of the DLC) who avenges his slain family. At 100% Friendship he stays with the Chantry, but at 100% Rivalry he takes his rightful place as the ruler of his city-state.

So, most of the time Rivalry is just the companions having a proper character arc.

It's more likely that they are fully aware of the demographics that play their games, but chose to ignore them in favor of sucking Fink's circumcised **** ****.

They ignore them because they don't care and publishers/executives let them get away with it. We have it on record in this very thread with gayder gloating that EA let them get away with that **** despite them knowing it would impact sales negatively and/or not be for their target audience.

I can not give you a link, but I do remember the debates and the argument was "There is that untapped market - women and gay" //hate that lumping together!// "so, let's give those groups something too and we will increase the sales". When someone was saying "But it's so much work for such a small group!" the answer was "According to our statistics, only 12% of players chose rogue as a class. Does it mean we should not include the rogue class in the fantasy games?"

All of these sounds kind of reasonable, no? And they tried. I say, DAO and ME have the best romances for women in BW games without taking anything from the male audience. Unfortunately, BW did not stop there and instead of expanding the audience, simply decided to replace it.

Funny enough, it seems Failhard (I will always call that "game" this way now) did one thing right that could fix every BW (and not only) game past ME2 - they included the sexual orientation of the protagonist at the character generation screen with romances bound to that. Should they have done it in DA2, we would never had a flirting scene with Anders for normal male Hawks. But back then BW was adamant, that if this was done, then there would be no exposure or something like that.

It's been 15 years, and this looks significantly worse in every way than Origins.

This, I think, is the worst part of this whole shitshow. The inability to counter their ********. Not because of their worldview being so logical and sensible, but because they literally cannot have any sign of opposing thoughts.
As terrible the Inquisition was, at the very least you could tell the obnoxious **** elf that she's a stupid immature **** that ruins everything with her ******** ******** and kick her the **** out of the organization.

You could order your forces to attack an obviously non-human creature after it sneaks into your base of operations.
But now you can't do any of it. Because their worldview cannot stand to slightest of scrutiny. They cannot bring themselves to even write a "fascist" line for their characters to say.
This is just like all the racist bigoted villains who never actually say "******" or "******" or misgender the degenerate ***** protagonist. They are completely unable to write stories because stories require stakes and adversity. And this cocksucking company dares to call this hunk of **** a "role-playing game."

There are people in Oceania who independently evolved blonde hair in Oceania separate from Europeans, for example, and it was selected for because it was considered cuter in children and more attractive in women. They are very blonde as children like Europeans, then men especially get darker as they get older. So you will find blondes among Papa New Guineans, Vanuatuans, and Australian Aborigines.

Dragon Age Deadname will likely flop, but Bioware is going to keep tagging along. They are somehow invulnerable. Some higher-up at Bioware probably has a nuclear blackmail material on EA's executives, I don't see any other reason for them to still exist to this day, yet they do.

As you and a few others mentioned in chat, the Canadian government gives them gibs, and as luckmann said, some higher-ups at EA might still see value in the BioWare brand, for whatever reason.

I'm not sure if that will be the case after Deadname. It entirely depends on how the game performs, since it has likely accumulated a pretty hefty tab over 8 or 9 years of development hell.

I assume EA themselves are pretty nervous about the game's reception judging by the fact they're not putting Denuvo (cost cutting or attempt to garner positive PR?) on the game and have been very heavy-handed in moderating who gets access to the game.

I can't imagine Bioware being put out of its (our?) misery after this disaster given that I normally would've expected it after one of the last few. This old dog is probably going to keep on going a while yet since its brand name and associated franchises are valuable to people who don't understand it's not the same Bioware anymore, and there must be some more blood left to suck out of Bioware's corpse for EA even if this ends up a total disaster.

Remember Andromeda's reception was not completely horrible outside of forums like this. I expect even if/when this game flops, we will hear about another Mass Effect and it will have plenty of hopeful morons that buy it. There will be lots of excuses for Deadwolf's failure, bigots and Biowarez. Likely they will remaster Dragon Age: Origins like they did the ME series, too, with an uglier and gayer version where you can become Alistair's queen even as a male dwarf rogue commoner, maybe lesbian Morrigan except she's ugly, and other modern improvements.
