Graphics overhauls have two paths. Absolutely ****** surface of the sun contrast, bloom, and cartoon tier saturation or making everything so dark you need to evolve to a higher species to see anything.

"Self-awareness is a virtue."
Of course, being utterly devoid of virtues, you wouldn't know what that means.
"being utterly devoid of virtues" me? For a lunatic who praises ********, you're a sanctimonous whiner.

that's not a mod's fault, deus ex has an issue with lighting. Switching to directx10 might help.

Yeah, that sounds like a problem a lot of older Direct3d/Unreal Engine games have. Though I thought GMDX fixed that out of the box (I can't remember).

VtM: Redemption has the same problem. You have to install a nGlide wrapper to play it. Some parts of it are still too ******* dark, imo.

Here's how I set up my GDMX config so that the lighting looks right and text/inventory are a good size (running on 1920x1080)

For me OpenGL works best. But yes, just try out different renderers, one will likely work.

The one consolation is that you don't need to gather your party before venturing forth and the enemies don't follow you between levels. If/when fed up with the ********, just cast celerity and run for the exit.

May as well not even play the game at that point.

This game is so ******* ****. I can't believe people got paid actual money to make this.

Here's how it goes.

1. Gay dialogue scene "oh Anezka we can't **** b/c of God, **** is horrible"
2. Go massacre hordes of monsters, most of your hits not landing, for 30 minutes plus.
3. Another gay dialogue scene.
4. Rinse. Repeat.

This isn't a VtM/White Wolf game, it's a "we've got to compete with Diablo" asslick cashgrab for its time with the Vampire IP. Bloodlines, even as jank-****** as it is, is a better "game" than this pile of animal feces.

We deserve to have a ******* comet his this garbage dump of a planet at this point. Because we really haven't gotten much better than this gameplay loop 24 ******* years later.

You are misinformed. I do not "praise" ********. Some of them I feel sorry for, and others - who use their (current) identity as a marxist political ram against normal social structure, applauded by the leftards - I denounce. Just like I denounce communism and nazism.
At the same time I feel no urge to kill them on sight (or boast that I do. Mostly you are just cowering behind your keyboards anyway, I guess). It is called amongst other things normal behaviour, common sense, and christian love - the golden rule.
So, being called a lunatic by you is approx being a pot called black by a kettle.

Sorry for a bit late answer - but I have other things to do than baby-sit a bunch nitwit, entitled, spoiled obnoxious milennial kindergarten nazi shithead brats (you know who you are). You might/will not get a new answer here, because I actually have a real life with RL responsibilities.
But seriously? This again? You really have no way to evolve your insults? Gee, you are even more ******** than I realized.

I think perhaps some fatal beatings would do you good. Notice the very last sentence.

Still didn't deny his wife being fat, old, ugly, barren, or getting blasted in by a DEI advertisement tier group of various men. :pipe-hat:

Bit weird to play vanilla again. So many sections I remembered as being quite difficult can be steamrolled now. Was still fun just as a reminder. Anyway, finished:

I know it's scary how wide and loose and gaping it is, but it's okay, it can't actually eat you as long you don't get close.

Why Oblivion over Morrowind?

Fair point, actually. And tbh I have no quarrel with you. Heck, I wouldn't even have noticed this thread hadn't someone mentioned me. Since I only really know two of the games of the poll (both of which ended up last), I'll leave this now, since I really have no interest in the games being played this month. Maybe I'll join another time (IE or NWN1/2 or ToEE or something other that's good. )

And nothing of value was lost.

Anyone else have an issue in Deus Ex where the game freezes for a little while whenever you go into a menu? Like if you press ESC, F1, F2, etc.
