No, need to go vanilla for the first run or even second to appreciate the changes in a mod like GMDX.loregamer wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 15:15I just installed Bloodlines so I will hold off on Redemption.
Any mods suggested for first Deus Ex playthrough?

Junior Adventurer's Guild - October: Deus Ex + Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption SPOOKY HALLOWEEN DOUBLE FEATURE
Go 100% vanilla, after that try Shifter.loregamer wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 15:15I just installed Bloodlines so I will hold off on Redemption.

So we walked down the hill into all those fears and maybes, all that sorrow, nothing certain in our lives except the frozen earth beneath our feet.
Will stick vanilla then. Apologies in advance if I don’t play either game this month and **** up the thread later, I’m still trying to find time to catch up on past AG games

The Steam version works pretty good with GMDX on top of it. All the pirated versions seem to break with it (original release, Gog with Revision pre-patched in).Jordy wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 07:10I'm playing the Steam version because it's already in my library.madbringer wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 07:09The GOG version works even on the 20 year old piece of **** PC I have.Jordy wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 07:03Is Deus Ex GOTY playable without having to patch it or are there game breaking bugs?
Also, isn't it more likely to work on a 20 year old piece of **** PC?
Use Tweed's suggestion of rsd's branch of GDMX.Jordy wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 07:10I'm playing the Steam version because it's already in my library.madbringer wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 07:09The GOG version works even on the 20 year old piece of **** PC I have.Jordy wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 07:03Is Deus Ex GOTY playable without having to patch it or are there game breaking bugs?

Yes, this is the definite version of Deus Ex, but for a first time playthrough I would still go vanilla.Acrux wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 17:29Use Tweed's suggestion of rsd's branch of GDMX.Jordy wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 07:10I'm playing the Steam version because it's already in my library.madbringer wrote: ↑ October 1st, 2024, 07:09

Yeah, but he said he couldn't get it to run.
Can we just do ******* Vampire since it's Halloween and stop with this lame back-and-forth ****? Can always do Deus Ex in November.
And for the record, Deus Ex is actually one of the greatest games ever made and well worth playing a shitload of times over. They truly don't make em like they used to.

A tip for Deux Ex character creation. Due to a bug, you can downgrade pistols to untrained, use the points for something else and when you finish character creation pistols will go back to trained.
Actually, this is wrong. Deus Ex has 21 votes, since my vote obviously hasn't been counted. The radio buttons in the poll did not work for me, but I stated C L E A R L Y that I voted for Deus Ex. So Deus Ex is the winner, people who want to giggle and play vampires and stuff or see Twilight can do so somewhere out of sight. Weirdos.
I expect this grave error to be fixed, lest you want your polls to appear as reliable as voting in Maricopa county.
