There's also a dwarf in the kitchens of the brothel in the city who mentions a 'husband' (pretty sure it was the brothel, definitely Wrym's Crossing either way). That's another one that needs dealing with if it hasn't already been caught.

I don't personally know anyone from Larian so I can only make assumptions, and what I believe is that those who were in charge of making the story suffer from modern-day narcissism, the type of egoism that makes them believe that either everyone else in the world - or at least the vast majority - enjoys the exact same things they do and likewise hates the exact same things they also hate.
These type of people have total ego shocks when presented with evidence that proves how uncommon their personality traits are, and instead of simply accepting the fact that they are a rare type of people and taking confort on their uniqueness, they try to find ways to force normal people - those different from them - to be more similar to them. They think that if normal people are exposed to degenerate **** long enough they will start to like it as much as they do.
