For significantly less you could probably just pay someone to finetune SD on the available portrait art and teach you how to use it.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Yes Larian, do so - and make the game fun (or even bearable) even after Act 2.
As long as Pazio doesn’t do a cease and desist order like Workshop games or any other legal issues for making a free mod I don’t mind.orinEsque wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 03:54
Well you're not likely to get a return on your investment other than personal satisfaction. And your work can be co-opted by the IP owners anytime. And you will get nothing for it.
The reality is anytime you make in any unofficial material on a IP that’s isn’t yours becomes a dice roll on the IP holder if they allow/promote it or send legal action to take the material down. ( cough… Take-Two Interactive… cough)
I mean how can bad can they co-opt it anyway ,can’t be any worse than the utter shitshow that is modern D&D with WOTC horridous mismanagement.
I got bad news they already did. Larian next game is going to make BG3 look like SIN in comparison for being political incorrect ******* quote me.

Gotta say the halfling one and the orc one suck ***. the first one looks like a child, but the pathfinder ones don't like children.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 03:38Half of these are from the Pathfinder games and half are from a random AI portrait pack. I strongly, STRONGLY believe you shouldn't spend tens of thousands of dollars on this project.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 03:21Yes. Honestly surprised no one else attempt something similar. The issue I have with portrait mod on sites on nexus is that a lot of it is AI and generic that lacks detail or clashes with the original game art.orinEsque wrote: ↑ August 29th, 2024, 04:55
You're going to spend 10,000 dollars on making portait mod by hiring artists? Never thought I'd see someone willing to spend that much on a mods.

I highly doubt on this one. Larian hiered so much degenerates, that they are beyond salvation.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 14:20I got bad news they already did. Larian next game is going to make BG3 look like SIN in comparison for being political incorrect ******* quote me.
I have noticed that non important names characters fall onto the generic side. While there no hard evidence to say they used AI there was a job posting of requiring the use of AI assets they even admitted saying they use AI Art for the early concept stage in there unannounced game.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 03:38

In the case for the cost for such an endeavour I agree it way to expensive which why capped to only 10k (being optimistic) I already have 30% of the funds which is money I could afford to waste.

I mean sure given enough time I could maybe be half way decent at it but still wouldn’t great and would even be more time consuming to complete.
How quickly do you think Twitter commission artists work?Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 20:44rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 03:55For significantly less you could probably just pay someone to finetune SD on the available portrait art and teach you how to use it.

I’m not entirely sure honestly.
Isn't there a website called fiver that does commissioned art?Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 21:26Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 21:16

Yes. Also ArtStation, Hungry artist on Reddit, instagram, and of course twitter.( I refuse to call it X)
So how will you handle the new major update 7 for Baldur's Gate 3?
Hiring anyone for freelance is a crapshoot. For some reason freelancers are either really good or ****, with seemingly nothing inbetween.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 21:16How quickly do you think Twitter commission artists work?Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 20:44rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ August 30th, 2024, 03:55For significantly less you could probably just pay someone to finetune SD on the available portrait art and teach you how to use it.

Most of everything I've done is compatible across patches.Tag365 wrote: ↑ September 5th, 2024, 16:58So how will you handle the new major update 7 for Baldur's Gate 3?
For English speaker even the new dialogue changes will be compatible .... forever.
Translators need to update their Lingo file with new version though.
And as with all patches, I'll just have to wait and see what breaks.
Have to check if anything different needs to be done to make no alphabets compatible with the ingame mod manager. No way in hell will i upload it to Larian's official mod page. This is definitely nsfw

Hi, thank you for your work and Rpghq. This is the only place that allowed me to really play Baldur's Gate ! Thanks to all modders for your work and your resistance againts the woke darkness ****.
Yep spot on there. I do think that places like sub Reddit hungry artists can give decent commission art work.SoLong wrote: ↑ September 5th, 2024, 17:04Hiring anyone for freelance is a crapshoot. I won't be able to test it for a few days due to life responsibilities. If you're uncertain, I'd hold off on updating to patch 7 until i test it out.
Edit: bg3 mod manager is broken. So I'll have to make NA compatible with official one.
CCreator is broken for patch 7.

The new patch have ****** up the entire mod system, ****. And their mod manager don't even have "select all" button last I checked, got to enable mods one by one manually.

Stay on patch 6 if you want working mods, at least for a month or two.arisen wrote: ↑ September 6th, 2024, 04:43The new patch have ****** up the entire mod system, ****. And their mod manager don't even have "select all" button last I checked, got to enable mods one by one manually.

So, if I update to patch 7, i am doomed to play with the original Wyll and faggotry?
Yes. Bg3 mod manager is broken. So stay on patch 6, at least until i make these mods fully compatible with Larian's mod managerRayoSombrio wrote: ↑ September 6th, 2024, 06:03So, if I update to patch 7, i am doomed to play with the original Wyll and faggotry?

Hi,
There is already a new version of bg3 mod manager. I haven't test yet but apparently it is compatible with the patch 7
.
https://github.com/LaughingLeader/BG3Mo ... /Changelog
1.0.11.0
Patch 7 Support
Updated modsettings.lsx for the latest changes.
Added "ModBrowser" to the list of ignored mods (this is a builtin Larian mod).
Fixed an issue with loading getting stuck on loading profiles.
Fixed the "Main" campaign not showing up in the campaign dropdown (mods no longer have a "Type", i.e. Add-on vs Adventure).

It is one the things I have ever seen too.
